Brooklyn’s Pimps of Joytime announce their highly anticipated third studio album, Jukestone Paradise, forthcoming on April 7, 2015 on their Write Home Records imprint.  The quintet showcases their kaleidoscope of influences by weaving ten new songs through their musical tapestry.  Special guests on the album include New Orleans funk leader Ivan Neville and Rubblebucket’s Alex Toth.

The album is a culmination of recording and touring for the past two years tallying over 100 shows per year including slots at major festivals like Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and High Sierra.  Lead guitarist and singer Brian J enthusiastically states, “Jukestone Paradise is the most focused and evolved piece of work we’ve done to date, both musically and sonically.”  The album was recorded at Vibromonk Studios and Brian J’s studio in Brooklyn between their heavy touring schedules.

“I closed my eyes and kept thinking of what a weird, spaced out futurist Juke Joint might be like and the music you would find there,” Brian J mentions about the title and direction of Jukestone Paradise.

Breaking down some of the focus tracks on the album cues you into their diverse musical world coined the “Pimps pot.”  “Red Golden” kicks off the set as a scorching blues number that evolves into a pop-psychedelic sound.  It’s one of the most uniquely produced songs on the album and a perfect way to showcase the bands evolution.  “Dance Cardia” which was recently premiered on tastemaker site Wax Poetics (http://smarturl.it/WP_DanceCardia) has Brian J’s falsetto vocals bumping over a polyrhythmic heavy funk groove.  The track features Rubblebucket’s Alex Toth bringing his quirky creativity throughout.

Sky” is a perfect song to lead the listener deep into album with its sing and clap along style chorus.  It's a spiritual uplifting tune about finding a source of inspiration at a dark time. Ivan Neville puts a nice touch on piano and B3, which has become a fan favorite during their exhilarating live performances.  “Cut Off” is a hard-hitting blues-rock tune that is expansive and irresistibly catchy with a signature Brian J guitar lead.  “Body Party” written by Brian J’s friend Anthony Cole (Nat King Cole Family) and was discovered in a bunch of demos that Anthony sent to him.  This is a room shaker, crowd pleaser, type of groove highlighted by powerful three part vocal harmonies.  This is just a selection of the overall vibe off the new album, which will be showcased at a city near you.

Pimps of Joytime are back on the road to promote Jukestone Paradise with extensive tour dates set for February, March, and April.  While continuing to win over new fans and critical acclaim at every market they play, the band will also return to their roots with a hometown CD release show at the Brooklyn Bowl on April 10th.  In May, the quintet is scheduled to perform late night sets at JazzFest in New Orleans plus festival performances at High Sierra in California and others to be announced.
