The Grateful Web, online since the summer of 1995, averages over 60K full page pulls per month, with solid readership growth over our first 9 years online and still growing (From June through September of 2004 Grateful Web had 1,000,000 hits; WebTrends).
Grateful Web's organic mission of open forum growth includes politics, environment, music, society, the arts (visual, written, theater etc.), and much more.
Grateful Web interviews can run the gamit of society. Some of them happen to be musicians, artists, old soldiers, and Mrs. Johnson next door baking pies, but all have feelings and beliefs on politics & open debate and we welcome it. Grateful Web and our guest(s) are curious about society now and where it's going. It's important to hear unique perspectives of how we choose to engage society and ourselves, from all sides.
Grateful Web next generation Website provides unique blogs for each column, allowing the next level of open forum. Both and all sides of debate is welcomed; Community has and will remain an integral part of the Grateful Web. As its stewards, we hope to bring Grateful Web members together through honest, humorous and heartfelt communication.
The Grateful web publishes some columns monthly (Grateful Word), newer columns may be spaced 60 days or longer. Music news is as it comes. GW Home's "Grateful Eye" and "Current Events" are updated real time, around the clock, 24 hours a day. First time submissions are open deadline.
Please email photos (No wider the 250 pixels, original photos only) related to your stories. if you cannot email them, we can make arrangements for snail mailing..
If you aren't familiar with the content, style and tone of the grateful web, first read through a few editorials. Though many seem biased to the left, we still welcome conservative voices. Grateful Web encourages conservatives to express their voices in hopes of productive open discussions. Grateful Right is our running conservative column.
Generally, think about writing for the grateful web as you would a letter to your best friend. This doesn't necessitate a casual style, rather it means that the substance is communicated simply, concise, frankly, and with enthusiasm.
If you are positive about something, be detailed. If you are negative, be constructive. Always begin from the ground up: who, what, where, when, & why...
If your article is already written and any part has been published previously, you must tell us when and by whom. If you do not inform us otherwise, you legally guarantee that we have right to publish. If the article is still in the idea stage (preferred), please contact us before beginning.
Grateful Web (GW) may not be able to publish immediately, though many times it will be within 24 hours assuming it reads well, etc. GW does not pay or exchange advertising for any articles submitted to us for publication. We publish content when it is worth sharing.
Don't expect edits... Your story should be easily read and not too negative or inspiring hatred. Marci Sannes, GW editor, can and may edit your language before or after posting. If she makes changes, you will be alerted. We may change content or facts if they prove different from the initial posting, with note of the change.
