Singer-songwriter-guitarist CHRIS ROBERTS straddles the worlds of Americana, raw country and Southern rock…or as he puts it “rock ‘n’ roll/hippie/country magic.” Following the release of his debut EP Red Feather earlier this year, CHRIS is getting ready to drop a new collection of songs on September 24, the Lost and Found EP, and he’s kicking it off with the release of his take on the Sammy Johns classic “Chevy Van,” out August 27.
 

From the opening lines of “Ease Me Into Dying,” the leadoff track from Ross Adams’ latest album Escaping Southern Heat, Adams’ vivid poetry paints a picture of love lost, wanderlust, and the gritty reality of working-class America. Atop jangling guitars and a pulsing rhythm section, Adams evokes images of run-down Southern industrial mills and grimy New York subway stations as he sings of the ghosts of romances gone-by, laying the beautifully wistful foundation upon which Escaping Southern Heat is built.

Today, intrepid Connecticut-based rock act Goose announced an upcoming return to the West Coast for an eight-date tour. Commencing in late January, the band will migrate west for it’s first-ever headlining run of shows along the Pacific Coast, making stops at a handful of never-before-played venues. 1/26 will see the Goose in Tempe, AZ (Marquee Theater), followed by a trio of California shows in San Diego (The Observatory), Los Angeles (The Fonda), and San Francisco (Regency Ballroom).

Central Florida’s boutique music and arts festival, Orange Blossom Revue, has announced the artist schedule for its 2021 event. Conveniently situated between Tampa and Orlando on the picturesque grounds of Lake Wailes Park, the 7th annual festival will coalesce live performances by some of roots music’s most celebrated artists, premier local food vendors and water-side fun on the weekend of December 3-4, 2021.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Baltimore’s favorite funky foursome, plans to return to Asheville, NC for an extraterrestrial two-night New Year’s Eve run. Called “ARENA 54 NYE,” the holiday celebration will combine out-of-this-world alien elements of Area 51 with the discotheque pastiche of one of history’s most renowned nightclubs, Studio 54. The run begins on 12/30 at The Orange Peel, followed by a massive “intergalactic disco celebration” at ExploreAsheville.com Arena on 12/31.

Ben & Jerry’s and public media organization PRX today announced “Blackberry Jams Presented by Ben & Jerry’s,” a new podcast pulling back the curtain on how jam band culture and Black liberation work intersect.
