Constantly working from the knowledge of self-determination, Satsang releases sophomore album on March 20, 2017 with Rootfire Cooperative. The album, Pyramid(s), is a refreshing album ready to activate the masses; accompanying the present minded lyrics is a fuller sound and new-soul vibe. Album special guests include Nahko Bear and Tim Snider of Medicine For The People, Wookiefoot, Tubby Love, and Grammy Award winner Chris Berry (has performed with Paul Winter, Eminem, Grateful Dead’s Bill Kreutzmann, Yousoon N’dour, Sly and Robbie).

Over the years the crew at J2G Live have shared their favorite dance party songs with the fans across Colorado via the set lists for their Dance Party Time Machine shows.  This year, as we approach the 2017 edition we asked them and the musicians playing on this years show  to share some thoughts on their favorite Dance Party songs of all time as well as some of their favorite songs and moments from previous shows.

Keepin it casual, Greensky Bluegrass rocked a two set Spring Tour Wednesday evening in Urbana IL.  Home of the fighting Illini, there was a full-on hug war happening.  From the floor to the balcony the bee boppin Greensky opened with Feeling Alright and began a birthday show toast-worthy fo sho. While Pixies have been acclaimed as the most influential, pioneering band of the late 80s alt/rock movement, having blazed the trail for artists from Nirvana to Radiohead to Pearl Jam, today, a whole new generation of music fans are discovering their iconic "loudquietloud" signature sound. After five genre-defining studio albums, Pixies disbanded in 1993, and then launched their reunion tour in April 2004, playing to sell-out crowds all over the globe for seven years, a longer period of time than they were a band originally.

Blues harmonica ace Steve Krase announces an April 21 release date for his latest album on Connor Ray Music, Should’ve Seen It Coming, which includes special guest appearances from label mates Trudy Lynn, Mark May and Bob Lanza.

Last Sunday, March 12, the Chicago-based progressive aggressive improvisational six piece known as Umphrey’s McGee crammed themselves, their full arsenal of gear and a fraction of their typical lighting array onto The Grate Room stage at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA.

March in Boulder, Colorado is not only a celebration of the most beautiful season, but this March is a special one because it is the 25th Anniversary of a legendary venue, the Fox Theatre. The performances thus far have been exceptional to say the least. I have heard from the founders, the bartenders, and fans alike, and the run of shows this month have been legendary. Rose Hill Drive is celebrating a comeback of sorts at this venue as well.

Believe is the latest album by Colorado disco-grass pioneers, The String Cheese Incident. The band’s tenth album overall, it is only their third in 12 years and with a release date of April 14, it arrives almost exactly three years removed from their previous album, 2014’s A Song In My Head.

The FoCoMX 2017 lineup is now public and promises to showcase Colorado’s rich musical talent. Presented by the Fort Collins Musicians Association (FoCoMA) and sponsored by Odell Brewing Co., the 9th annual FoCoMX weekend boasts 250+ Colorado bands and solo musicians at 28 Downtown Fort Collins venues.
