The potentially rainy day at the nation’s most beautiful outdoor venue made the perfect backdrop to what was about to transpire. The Flaming Lips, with their elaborate stage set up for over one hundred performers, were going to play their entire album entitled The Soft Bulletin with the Colorado Symphony led by conductor Andre de Ritter.

Balkan Beat Box celebrate a short stint of successful stateside dates that wrapped triumphantly this weekend with a packed out show at DC’s 9:30 Club (w/Yemenite sister trio A-Wa in support), having commenced with an equally shoulder-to-shoulder affair at NYC’s Irving Plaza on June 17th , with the release of their new single, “Shout It Out,” accompanied by a nifty skate n’ spray lyric video. Instrumental rock-fusion quartet TAUK are proud to announce a new full-length studio album of original tracks will be released on September 16th, 2016. The yet-to-be-named album will feature Grammy-winning producer Robert Carranza (Mars Volta, Jack Johnson) at the helm. This will mark Carranza’s fifth project with the band.

What to say about this show? I will say it was a Phish show: not a Mike show, not a Trey show, not Page show, not a Fish show. It was a Phish show, a whole band who interacted and engaged in a musical conversation throughout. Wrigley Field provided the place for them to engage us, the audience, in their conversation.
