Old Salt Union
Every Thursday at Cervantes Other Side in Denver, CO they feature a bluegrass night. On this night, Joseph James Brewing Company featured this week’s Grass For That Ass jam. This weekly tradition down in the Five Points section of this musical city has become a weekly occurrence for some of the bluegrass dedicated. On this night, there was a diverse music selection.
It had been nearly a year since Jeff Austin took the stage at George’s Majestic Lounge. This time he did so with his very own band and his very own style: electrifying. From the moment The Jeff Austin Band took over a red hot stage from openers, Old Salt Union, the energy never waned. Opening their set with the classic “Raleigh and Spencer” we knew immediately that Austin was there to please the fans.
Yet another beautifully sunny day graced us on Friday at Yonder Mountain String Band's Harvest Music Festival. Not a drop of rain and enough sunshine to charge cell phones (a rarity among the few most recent Harvest festivals.) There is such happiness floating through the campsites and stages, families are playing and wrangling children, and barbeque nachos are in my near future. Life is good.
