The Fabulous Thunderbirds may have celebrated their 50th anniversary last year, but the concert footage that makes up Live in Houston—shot in 2006, shortly after they marked their 40th—is proof that sometimes, time is meaningless.

It was indeed way back in 1974 that vocalist/harmonica player Kim Wilson and guitarist Jimmie Vaughan (brother of Stevie Ray Vaughan) formed the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

My Morning Jacket shares their heavy and propulsive new single, "Squid Ink," today and it's available now at all streaming services. Renowned Maryland funk quartet Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is thrilled to announce a return to North Carolina for a performance at Pisgah Brewing Company on Friday, May 16th.  Located in the picturesque Black Mountains, this show promises to be an unforgettable jam-filled soiree at one of Western NC’s most renowned outdoor stages.

Snakes Made of Light features 10 songs that “go for transcendence, but also long to be from somewhere; the whole push/pull, yin/yang thing,” according to Michael Graber, the band’s chief songwriter, in an interview with the Memphis Flyer.

The Lil Smokies’ high-energy acoustic music has evolved into its own distinctive sound. With a nearly five-year gap from their last album, 2020’s Tornillo, the band returns with two new members, bassist Jean Luc Davis and banjo player, Sam Armstrong-Zickefoose, to add to the core trio of dobro player and Montana native Andy Dunnigan, Seattle-based lead guitarist the Reverend Matthew Rieger, and fiddler Jake Simpson, now dividing his time between Montana and Oklahoma.
