The Betty Boards Foundation, a charitable campaign administered by Music's Promise, and Positive Legacy, a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit that integrates music and service to benefit people and the planet, have joined forces to auction off signed memorabilia including concert tickets, instruments, posters, and more during a special two-week online event.
The proceeds of the auction, taking place online September 1–14, will benefit the Betty Boards Foundation. The Betty Boards Foundation was established by Betty Cantor-Jackson and her friends to empower women in the production and live music industries who have faced significant life challenges. They provide financial support to help these women reclaim their independence, elevate their craft, and thrive both personally and professionally.
If you’ve ever been moved by a legendary Betty Board, you know the magic Betty Cantor-Jackson brought to the world. Her iconic recordings of the Grateful Dead and others have preserved live music history.
Now, she needs our help. Betty is recovering from hip surgery and dealing with flood damage to her rental home. Betty will be the Foundation’s first recipient.
Ahead of the auction launch and throughout the run, Positive Legacy will procure items for the auction, working closely with the Betty Boards Foundation to collaborate with artists and other donors. The auction will be hosted through an online platform of item listings and will facilitate bidding and financial transactions during the two-week event. A variety of one-of-a-kind, custom memorabilia will be available, including items from some of the seminal artists she has worked with over the years.
We invite individuals to support these efforts by providing donations of items, experiences, and more to the auction directly or by bidding on items available through the two-week event. “Positive Legacy is thrilled to be working alongside the Betty Boards Foundation to support women in production. Betty’s recordings have touched countless lives, and we are excited to be part of this initiative to support her and the work of this new Foundation, channeling the power of music for good,” said Carrie Reppert, Positive Legacy Executive Director.
