Nashville recording artist, multi-Grammy nominee and multi-IBMA award recipient, Frank Solivan releases first-ever holiday single today. “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” available at all digital service providers.
If you type “pandemic Christmas” into a search engine you are bound to find articles warning that coronavirus will put holiday celebrations in jeopardy. The pandemic will surely keep loved ones from being together this holiday season. Frank Solivan wants to bring us all together with a fresh take on a song written nearly 80 years ago.
“This holiday season I thought it was important to share a song that reminds us of the Christmas traditions that unite us,” Solivan shares. “Reunions with friends and family, warm memories of olden days, and hope to once again gather together with an embrace and a kiss.”
Listening to the words of this timeless song through our current lens will remind us to stay hopeful. Solivan explains, “I found the lyrics particularly meaningful this year, and I hope it brings some comfort to those needing it. So please, ‘Let your heart be light. Someday soon we all will be together. Until then, we’ll have to muddle through somehow. So, have yourself a merry little Christmas now.’”
Solivan brought together some of the finest musicians in acoustic music for this single. Frank sings lead vocals and adds guitar and mandolin. 2013 IBMA Banjo Player of the Year, Mike Munford is on banjo. Mark Shatz of Nickel Creek fame holds down the bass. IBMA’s most awarded musician, Rob Ickes plays dobro and newcomer, Jillian Lea lends angelic harmony vocals and penny whistle.
