OREBOLO RELEASES DEBUT STUDIO ALBUM, THE CHATEAU

Today, Goose offshoot acoustic trio Orebolo, featuring Rick Mitarotonda (guitar, vocals), Peter Anspach (guitar, vocals), and Jeff Arevalo (upright bass, vocals) unveils their debut studio album, The Chateau, available now across all streaming platforms. The highly anticipated nine-track project, released via No Coincidence Records, marks a significant milestone in the burgeoning band’s journey.

Recorded in Connecticut’s tranquil rolling hills at a studio, affectionately dubbed "The Chateau," the group crafted polished yet heartfelt renditions of select tracks from the band’s immense catalog, alongside never-before-heard originals and cover songs.

Produced by D. James Goodwin (Bob Weir, The Hold Steady, Bonny Light Horsemen), The Chateau exemplifies Orebolo’s unique blend of Americana and acoustic mastery. Goodwin’s creative synergy with the band, coupled with his seasoned professional touch, brings out the best in Orebolo, capturing their spirit and musicality in every note.

“The idea started when Dan [D. James Goodwin] came to an Orebolo show and expressed interest in recording the project. At the time, “The Chateau” had been in the works for a few years and was close to completion, so we thought it’d be a good project to break the room in with,” explained Rick Mitarotonda. “In a certain way, this recording process was backwards from our usual process, where we go into the studio with particular material in mind for a record. This project was more about getting in the room, playing around with things and seeing what was feeling good. The emphasis was primarily on the loose live feeling of Orebolo, with some touches of studio treatment and layering where it felt appropriate,” he added.

Heralding the new project is a haunting rendition of “Amongster,” originally performed by Minnesota indie quintet POLIÇA. The stripped-back cover employs shimmering harmony and exceptional instrumental interplay, standing alone as an awe-inspiring re-creation of a sanguine ode to the power of emotion.

Additionally, last night, Orebolo surprised listeners with a short documentary on the album recording process. Directed by Michael Nuchereno, the video features behind-the-scenes footage of Orebolo at work, alongside interview-style testimonials from band members.

This spring, Orebolo gave fans a taste of what’s to come with the release of their single “Rockdale.” The track, a live favorite, showcases the trio’s exceptional ability to breathe new life into familiar acoustic sounds. The release was lauded by Relix Magazine as “radiating warmth and clarity from its sleek studio sheen… a bold and full acoustic sound arises from the rapid rapport between the three masterful string voices, alight on soaring harmonies and complete with a tight, funky, locomotive jam.”

Fans can now purchase The Chateau on limited edition 180g black and cream galaxy vinyl through the band’s online store. The project will also be available at select record retailers nationwide.
