Rescue Dog Goodie Donation Drive at LIIFE Screening of “For Sato’s Sake”

On Saturday July 22nd at 11am, The Long Island International Film Expo (LIIFE) will present the feature documentary “For Satos Sake” (the recipient of this year’s Alan Fortunoff Humanitarian Film Award) as part of the “Reel LIIFE” Block during the 26th Anniversary presentation of the festival, which is happening from July 19th - July 23rd at the historic Bellmore Movies & The Showplace, 222 Pettit Ave in Bellmore.

In keeping with the spirit of the film, we will be hosting a rescue dog goodie drive at the event, collecting snacks, toys and other goodies for shelter dogs which will be donated to TOHAS, a boxer rescue, and several other local animal advocates.

Some of the items the dogs have requested include edible Nyla bones, Nyla bones, Jolly balls, Toys for aggressive chewers, Denta Sticks, mother hubbard bones, Old Mother Hubbard By Wellness Classic P-Nuttier Value Box, bully sticks, Jerky treats, Pupperonis, Nudgies, soft treats
For Satos Sake Documentary is an informative, inspiring, emotionally intense documentary that gives the viewers an insider look at the homeless animal crisis in Puerto Rico. It also highlights the incredible efforts made by a group of rescuers who have come together from all different walks of life for one common goal; to save the lives of these sentient beings often found struggling to survive on their own. Filled with heartwarming moments, the documentary explores the resilience, strong will and heart of both the rescuer and their rescues, many of whom despite against all odds and with the love and kindness from their rescuers, fosters and supporters, have secured forever homes where they now live happier and healthier lives.

About Director Evelyn O. Vaccaro: Evelyn has been volunteering her time to create awareness documentaries, specifically about the homeless animal crisis and efforts being made by rescuers, for over 12 years now. She is a long time advocate of animal welfare who has dedicated many years to creating awareness and educational documentaries and PSA’s to help in the cause against animal homelessness and neglect. For Satos Sake Documentary is her 3rd full length documentary. Her other documentaries include ‘Its a Potcake Life’ about the plight of the homeless dogs of the Bahamas and ‘Circle of Strength’ about families separated from their loved ones during Hurricane Dorian. When Evelyn is not spending her time trying to help bring awareness to these causes, she works as a full time stunt woman and has been featured in such films Black Panther 2 Wakanda Forever, John Wick 3, as a stunt double on several Tyler Perry TV shows, Outer Banks and many others.
