Sweetwater Music Hall, the intimate, all-ages, wheelchair-accessible music venue and nonprofit arts organization at 19 Corte Madera Avenue in Mill Valley, today announces its May–early June concert calendar. Established in 1972, Sweetwater Music Hall presents an array of genres—rock, folk, blues, reggae, pop, experimental and beyond—underscoring its mission to harness the transformative power of live music to inspire change and unite communities.
May opens on Friday the 2nd with Purple Haze featuring Ralph Woodson, a dynamic tribute to Jimi Hendrix, followed on Saturday the 3rd by a special daytime showcase from School of Rock’s adult bands (Casual Distortion, Continental Drift, Loaf, Lost at Sea and Undercover Saints) and an evening performance by Las Cafeteras, whose Afro-Mexican rhythms and spirited stage presence have won accolades worldwide. On Sunday the 4th, the Golden Gate Blues Society hosts its monthly Open Jam, welcoming musicians of all skill levels for a free afternoon session.
The second week highlights The Rain Parade with opening support from Asteroid No. 4 on Friday, May 9, and a standalone set by indie pop-rock outfit Cayucas on Saturday, May 10. Sunday, May 11 begins with The Rock and Roll Playhouse’s family-friendly tribute to Talking Heads, followed by Roger Clyne & Willy Braun headlining an all-ages rock showcase. Midweek evenings feature singer-songwriter Phil Cook on Tuesday, May 13 and UK folk legends Martin & Eliza Carthy on Wednesday, May 14, while Thursday, May 15 brings reggae pioneers Israel Vibration alongside Duane Stephenson & Roots Radics. Closing the week on Friday, May 16 is Fleetwood Mask, a spirited Fleetwood Mac tribute band.
As May continues, Sweetwater Music Hall presents a busy weekend on Sunday the 18th, when School of Rock returns with performances from Rock 101, Performance Program and original songwriting bands, then in the evening hosts Jenner Fox Band’s album release party with support from Megan Keely. Monday, May 19 spotlights emerging singer-songwriters at Adrianne Serna’s Student Showcase, followed on Thursday, May 22 by the Marin School of the Arts Rock Band Showcase. Friday, May 23 features John Carroll Kirby with Logan Hone in a folk-rock evening courtesy of (((folkYEAH!))), and Sunday, May 25 pairs the monthly Marin Bluegrass Sessions open jam (no cover) with a free set by Josh Zee And Friends. On Tuesday, May 27, legendary rock photographer Henry Diltz headlines “Behind The Lens: California Dreamin’ Tour 2025” – a book tour, meet-and-greet and fundraiser. Wednesday, May 28 commemorates three decades of reggae’s Natural Mystic Tour with The Wailers, while Thursday, May 29 welcomes the Bread and Roses Golden Jam fundraiser. May concludes with Soul Ska’s high-energy ska and rocksteady set on Friday the 30th and experimental psych rock from El Radio Fantastique with Junk Parlor on Saturday the 31st.
June opens on Sunday the 1st with an afternoon Sunday Blues Open Jam (no cover) and an evening performance by Southern rockers Eddie Roberts and The Lucky Strokes. After a brief pause, “Pardon the Interruption” featuring Jethro Jeremiah Band brings new wave and prog-pop on Thursday, June 5, and on Friday, June 6, Neon Velvet revives ’70s, ’80s and ’90s dance hits for a night of nostalgia.
