The Ian McGuire Music Scholarship Fund (IMMSF) and Ardmore Music Hall are hosting the 2nd annual benefit concert in honor of Ian McGuire’s legacy. The concert will serve as the album release party “Spring Garden”, the last album McGuire recorded with friend and bandmate Scotty Zwang before McGuire’s passing.

Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings announce the release of Little Richard: I Am Everything: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, featuring music from Lisa Cortés’ award-winning documentary. The album offers a 14-track collection of Little Richard’s best-loved hits, such as “Tutti Frutti,” “Good Golly, Miss Molly,” “Rip It Up,” and “Long Tall Sally,” plus two previously-unreleased covers from Valerie June and Cory Henry, and a piece from the film’s original score, composed by Tamar-kali.

Midwest Americana family-driven band Shannon Clark and the Sugar’s new album This Old World (out Sept. 8th) paints a sharp, heartfelt portrait of modern American life told through country, soulful folk & roots, and heartland rock with the blend of blood harmonies. It balances that hard line of being radio-friendly and emotionally resonant with its catchy hooks and relatable lyrics that aren’t afraid to tackle tough subjects. The band will be touring heavily this year.

Today, the worldwide celebration continues as “Fortunate Son,” written and performed by John Fogerty and recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival, surpasses one billion streams on Spotify, announced by Concord Music Publishing. This outstanding achievement comes on the heels of another Fogerty written hit for Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), “Have You Ever Seen The Rain,” surpassing one billion streams in March 2023.

Music Worcester celebrates Summer@MW the weekend of July 21 -22 with two concerts that highlight the incredible range of jazz.  On Friday July 21st Grammy Award-winner and MacArthur “Genius” grant recipient Cécile McLorin Salvant plays an intimate concert at JMAC’s BrickBox, one of Worcester’s newest performance spaces, and the legendary John Pizzarelli takes the stage at Mechanics Hall on Saturday July 22.
