Kentucky musician Ben Sollee today shares “When You Gonna Learn” from his upcoming album Long Haul. The album, his first solo studio effort in seven years, comes out August 16 via sonaBlast! Recordings. On the album, Sollee draws from diverse influences, from nearby Appalachia and Muscle Shoals (he lives in Kentucky) to the exotic music from Polynesia and West Africa. These influences all meet with Sollee’s cello and vocals to create a wonderfully textured album, something akin to Paul Simon’s Graceland.

Available to stream/download today, these newly remastered digital offerings encompass McClinton’s releases through Stax’s Enterprise imprint: O.B. McClinton Country (1971), Obie From Senatobie (1973), Live at Randy’s Rodeo (1973) and If You Loved Her That Way (1974).

Finnish jazz trumpet virtuoso Verneri Pohjola and critically acclaimed psychedelic indie-folk group Tuomo & Markus have joined forces both on stage and in the studio. The artists recorded a collaborative all-instrumental album. Music For Roads will be released worldwide November 1. The band are releasing the Pohjola-penned single Anyhow Lane today, on the eve of their US summer festival run.

A new song from the forthcoming album Milton & esperanza - a collaborative project from Milton Nascimento and esperanza spalding - has been released today.  “Um Vento Passou (para Paul Simon)” features a vocal duet between Paul Simon and Nascimento.  Inspired by his long time friendship with Paul Simon, Nascimento wrote the song recently, and the world is able to hear it for the first time. Lyrics are by Nascimento’s long time collaborator, and fellow Clube da Esquina alum, Marcio Borges.

Celebrated singer-songwriter Garrison Starr is set to take the stage at the iconic Ryman Auditorium on October 11, 2024, where she will open for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. Starr joins Isbell for one night of his highly anticipated eight-night residency, adding another highlight to her illustrious career.

They said it would never happen, but now it is – after 25 years, Soul Coughing are reuniting for a 17-date American tour beginning September 11 in San Diego, CA. The tour ends with a two-night celebration at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY on October 4 and 5.
