The Louis Armstrong House Museum is thrilled to announce a special livestream event featuring the brilliant minds and talents of Esperanza Spalding and Antonio Brown, taking place on Thursday, October 14th, 2023, at 5:00pm ET. The event will unfold on the Armstrong Now Open Studio platform and present a rare glimpse into the creative processes of these extraordinary artists.

Blue Note Records, Concord Music Group, Mack Avenue Music Group, Nonesuch Records, the Verve Label Group and Warner Music Group have joined together to release Relief — an all-star compilation of previously unreleased music from Jon Batiste, Kenny Garrett, Herbie Hancock, Hiromi, IRMA and LEO (Esperanza Spalding and Leo Genovese), Charles Lloyd, Christian McBride, Joshua Redman and Cécile McLorin Salvant.

esperanza spalding has announced her new album SONGWRIGHTS APOTHECARY LAB, to be released September 24 on Concord Records. SONGWRIGHTS APOTHECARY LAB features 12 pieces of music, created and recorded over the past several months in her traveling laboratory, in collaboration with a host of musicians, researchers and practitioners.

Esperanza Spalding’s new musical journey continues as she releases her single “Formwela 4”, created and recorded in her Songwrights Apothecary Lab last month in Portland, OR. Connected by their need to enhance the ability to say what is most difficult to say between loved ones, she worked with collaborator Corey King on the soaring and stripped back single, featuring arpeggiated acoustic guitar and duetting vocals.
