The Magic Beans are a band with a passion for music that is as infectious as their songs, both of which have gained them national notoriety in a short time. The thing is, Los Angeles-based Grateful Shred manage to channel that elusive Dead vibe: wide-open guitar tones, effortless three-part vocal harmonies, choogling beats, and yes, plenty of tripped out, Shredded solos. It’s uncanny. “It’s more of a ‘take’ on the Dead than a tribute band,” says bassist Dan Horne. “We end up sounding almost more like the Dead because we approach it in this free-spirited way.”

Pitchfork 2018 included breezy weather with a light mist of rainforest lusciousness in the middle of the city of Chicago.  To keep moving freely in and out of tents, fans donned their ponchos, rain gear, and umbrellas. Cory Wong lives a modest life – Whether he’s on the road playing sold out shows with the Ann Arbor-bred funk phenomenon Vulfpeck, diving deep under the sea with the mysterious instrumental quartet The Fearless Flyers, or touring the world with his newest solo project the Cory Wong Band, it’s safe to say this Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist is living a dream most would say was impossible just a few short years ago.

Widely acclaimed-and the incessantly touring-bluegrass outfit YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND have announced an array of headlining and festival dates for the second half of 2018. The band is also excited to welcome back working mom Allie Kral to the road, as she enjoyed some time off with the birth of her first child in May.

Boston’s Independent Radio, WXRV/92.5 the River announced that long-time station favorites Barenaked Ladies will headline their 17th Annual Newburyport Riverfront Music Festival on Saturday, September 1st at Waterfront Park. Phillip Phillips, Anderson East and The Aldous Collins Band round out the bill for the free festival which runs from 12PM to 6:30PM.  The announcement was made as part of “The Big Reveal,” a special hour long show with morning host Dana Marshall.
