Horning’s Hideout in beautifully forested North Plains, Oregon kept its tradition this year, hosting the 16th Annual Northwest String Summit on July 13th through the 16th. The long-time festival boasts an eclectic gathering with several event stages, a wide variety of string-instrument bands and features camping, vendor booths, a children’s village, yoga and mindfulness sessions and more.

New York/New England-based group Low Pagoda released their new album Low Pagoda and the Unseen Ministers of Love last week––a sixteen-track excursion through psychedelic peaks and grooves reminiscent of ‘60s rock, jazz, soul, funk, folk, kraut rock and world music.

Multi-platinum-selling Irish band The Coronas are preparing to bring their fifth album, TRUST THE WIRE, to North America this fall with a September 1 album release supported by a November tour. The previously-announced tour now begins a day earlier--on November 4 at Toronto's Drake Hotel-after the first announced show there sold out in a few days. Now both Toronto shows are sold out. The new album, which follows four double-platinum albums in Ireland, is the band's first release on their own label imprint called So Far So Good Records, distributed in the U.S.

The late Jerry Garcia would have turned 75 on August 1st and 22 years after his passing on August 9, 1995, his cultural impact has yet to reach its apex. Nationwide celebrations, concerts, commemorations and archival releases continue to honor his one-of-a-kind legacy throughout the year.

It’s hard to believe that two years have passed since the gargantuan Grateful Dead: Fare Thee Well five-show run in Santa Clara, California, and Chicago, Illinois. The surviving core four members of Grateful Dead were joined by Bruce Hornsby, Trey Anastasio and Jeff Chimenti for stadium shows that gathered tens of millions in profit and more importantly enduring memories for fans and the band.
