Today (5.2), The Music of The World Games announces the addition of global superstar Lionel Richie as a featured performer at this year’s event. The Tuskegee, AL-native is set to return to his home state and headline the The World Games 2022 Closing Ceremony presented by Coca Cola, set for July 17th at Protective Stadium. This performance marks Richie’s first performance in his home state in over two decades.
The Rock and Roll Playhouse --- a family concert series where kids and parents rock out to the classics --- announces a special run of shows to honor and celebrate mothers. Taking place May 7 and 8 on Mother's Day Weekend, The Rock and Roll Playhouse plays the music of The Beatles for Kids. The shows will occur nationwide at 15 historic venues, including Antone's (Austin, TX), Brooklyn Bowl (Las Vegas and Philadelphia), Cubby Bear (Chicago), Music Farm (Charleston, SC) and The Sinclair (Boston).

Khruangbin is a three-piece band from Houston, Texas, formed in 2009 with Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar and Donald Johnson on drums. Taking influence from 1960's Thai funk-their name literally translates to "Engine Fly" in Thai-Khruangbin is steeped in the bass heavy, psychedelic sound of their inspiration, Tarantino soundtracks and surf-rock cool.
