After three years of waiting, Marcus Gad & Tribe finally deliver their new creation, Ready For Battle. It’s the fourth studio album by the New Caledonian artist working together with his band Tribe, which began backing Gad in 2017 for the album Chanting. The record releases digitally in North America on February 10, with the physical versions (double LP vinyl and CD) coming out on March 3 within the territory. Check it out here.

Americana literary songsmith Karen Jonas’s sixth LP, The Restless (out Mar. 3), is a dark alt-country exploration of vulnerability. Each song is a confession that lands somewhere between nostalgia and doom. This mix of playful longing and earnest heartbreak crescendos into B-side opener “Rock the Boat,” which leaves Jonas prepared to walk straight into a river. The Restless is a visceral experience: you can feel the “lace and velvet” and taste “the bite of bourbon” on your lover’s tongue.

Los Angeles singer-songwriter-guitarist DAVID HAERLE is preparing for the release of his third full-length album El Camino Sierra, set for release on April 7. The 16-track collection traverses genres -- singer-songwriter, rock, pop and Americana -- with words inspired by his life, experiences, people and observations of all that surround him. One of those songs, “Electric Trucker,” is out today (1/20) alongside its official music video, which first debuted on Rock and Roll Globe.

North Carolina-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Chessa Rich releases “Julia” from the forthcoming album Deeper Sleeper, out April 7 via Sleepy Cat Records. Featuring Alex Bingham of Hiss Golden Messenger on bass and synths and Joseph Terrell of Mipso on background vocals, “Julia” is a treatise on the creative process, paying homage to the titular Julia Cameron and her 1992 book The Artist’s Way.
For an astonishing number of decades, alto, soprano, and baritone saxophonist Fostina Dixon has performed and recorded with a star-studded roster of musicians, from Frank Foster, Roy Ayers, and Abbey Lincoln, to Melba Liston, Gil Evans, and Marvin Gaye; has been one of the most accomplished artists on her instrument; and has been a master teacher to generations of students. Yet for all of her accomplishments, Dixon has only recorded a few albums as a leader.
