Spotlighted by a first-set tribute to The Band, including such classics as “Up on Cripple Creek,” “Acadian Driftwood,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” and “Don’t Do It,” five renowned San Francisco Bay Area musicians dubbed “Lebo & Friends” got together on January 28 for a swell Saturday night of songs and jamming in Auburn, Calif., in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.
 

The Tedeschi Trucks Band rolled into Boca Raton’s Mizner Amphitheater last Friday, bringing their brand of blues and soul, to a festive capacity crowd. The 12-piece ensemble consisting of the husband- and-wife team Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, played two sets that drew heavily from their 2022 release, I Am the Moon and included a barn burning cover of Santana’s ‘Soul Sacrifice’.

On Friday February 3, the New Orleans Suspects and Sol Roots band join forces at The Hamilton Live, in Washington D.C., for a joyous night of upbeat funk, deep blues and soul, swamp rock, and hypnotic grooves!

It’s just a happy accident that it will be 25 years almost to the day between the original February, 1998 release of Larry Sparks’ all-gospel New Highway by Mountain Home Music Company and its February, 2023 digital only re-issue (now available for pre-save, add and order ahead of its February 24 release), but it’s also a useful reminder of the upward trajectory of the legendary singer and guitarist’s career.

Hot on the heels of their announcement regarding the re-opening of Dallas’s famed Longhorn Ballroom, the team behind the venue, Kessler Presents, is already scheduling top tier programming. Today, the performers were announced for the Longhorn’s soft launch period beginning at the end of March and continuing into April, wasting no time adding new names to the legendary list of musicians who’ve already stepped foot on this stage—not to mention inviting some of them back.

Today, acclaimed Austin-based ensemble Wild Child announced their new album End of the World, out March 31 via Reba’s Ranch Records, their new self-run label exclusively distributed by Secretly Distribution. Accompanying the news is a brand new single, the LP’s title track, “End of the World,” a barnburning ode to contemporary dangers and the ways in which these major fears color the little things in our lives.
