In the course of their career spanning 19 years, 15 albums and countless tours around the globe, British four- piece, The New Mastersounds, have carved out a unique space for themselves as world-class purveyors of contemporary jazz-funk. Originally released as part of the sold-out Fillmore West 1969: The Complete Recordings, the Grateful Dead’s Fillmore West, San Francisco 2/27/69 show will be issued on vinyl for the very first time exclusively for Record Store Day 2018. Pressed on 180-gram vinyl, the limited-edition 4-LP set (8th side etching) will have a worldwide run of 9000.

There’s something irresistible about the Infamous Stringdusters. Their ebullient enthusiasm and riveting musicianship completely overwhelmed the packed house at Eugene’s (Ore.) HiFi Lounge on March 8.  The Stringdusters performed two invigorating sets of their distinctively expansive, new grass music and beguiled the enthusiastic crowd. They produced a bona fide ball, flooding the small venue with ecstatic musical energy that felt bigger than the room.

Joachim Cooder has been immersed in the music life since birth. First as a boy observing his legendary father Ry Cooder, then in his early teens performing and recording with him (most famously on Buena Vista Social Club) and later his many collaborations and productions with the likes of The Haden Triplets, Matt Costa, Inara George, Carly Ritter, his wife Juliette Commagere and his brother-in-law Robert Francis.

Levitate Music Festival has released the lineup by day for its sixth annual festival happening July 7th-8th, 2018. This spring, the New York Guitar Festival and Arts Brookfield will present two days of performances devoted entirely to classical and flamenco Spanish guitar music at Brookfield Place. 

SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS will return this fall with their as-yet-untitled third studio album. The group-SLASH (Guitar), MYLES KENNEDY (Vocals), BRENT FITZ (Drums), TODD KERNS (Bass & Vocals) and FRANK SIDORIS (Guitar & Vocals)--has entered the studio with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge, Iggy Pop, Incubus). Expect the group to announce a full North American tour for the fall.
