2x GRAMMY® Award-winner Shooter Jennings recently made history by curating his first-ever all-star tribute to his legendary father, the late, great Waylon Jennings. Held last month at Redondo Beach, CA’s BeachLife Ranch, “The Songs of Waylon Jennings” saw Jennings joined by a truly stellar line-up of close friends, family members, and special guests for a once-in-a-lifetime festival performance showcasing classic songs and fan favorites from the iconic outlaw country hero’s hugely influential body of work.

The New York City-based band Hazmat Modine has become a global sensation, touring 40 countries in just 15 years, and will soon perform at Flushing Town Hall on Saturday, October 22—the perfect setting for a band whose musical influences are as diverse as the venue’s Queens neighborhood. Hazmat Modine will be joined by special guest, 2019 NEA National Heritage Fellow Balla Kouyaté, and the evening will feature dance lessons from Mali.

Grammy award-winning recording artist Jody Miller passed away this morning in Blanchard, Oklahoma from complications related to Parkinson’s Disease. She was 80 years old. Miller first signed to Capitol Records as a folk artist in 1962, landing her first single “He Walks Like a Man” on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964.

For over 30 years, Shakedown Street has been performing the immense catalog of the Grateful Dead. The ever-shifting repertoire draws from homegrown idioms steeped in traditional Americana, folk, blues, jazz, and rock and roll, with a healthy dose of the avant-garde.

DEAD & COMPANY is launching its 2023 summer tour on Friday, May 19th and Saturday, May 20th in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum with dates running through Friday, July 14th and Saturday, July 15th when the tour ends in San Francisco at Oracle Park.  The band - Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, John Mayer, and Bob Weir, with Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti – will perform two sets of music drawing from the Grateful Dead’s historic catalog of songs.

Last month, Light in the Attic Records, in cooperation with Laurie Anderson, digitally released the inaugural title in their Lou Reed Archive Series: Words & Music, May 1965, “an intimate document of [Reed and John Cale] discovering a sound that would shape countless musicians and styles in their wake” (Washington Post).
