Eric Krasno

Modern funk guitar hero Eric Krasno and indie rap legend Wax are back with the second single from their upcoming collaborative album, "LIGHT YEARS," released by Feel Music Group. The new song "Higher" is a heartfelt boom-bap banger that hearkens back to the era of Kanye's first and second albums. This time, the duo has recruited features from hip-hop cultural icon Talib Kweli and Lettuce frontman Nigel Hall, who provides the wonderfully catchy and powerful, soul-drenched hook.

The only hikes I’ve been going on lately are price hikes. Seasonal work has me dealing with feast or famine and unfortunately, the feast is just enough to cover the famine. Then the celestial bodies align and the American dream comes into focus. Believing in your dreams like the constellations in the night sky will lead you back home again on Labor Day weekend to Camp Shaw in Manteno, IL to Shoe Fest.

Eric Krasno, the name synonymous with the sonic wonders of Soulive, Lettuce, and countless GRAMMY® wins, has struck the right chord once again. Today, he announced not only the dates for the much-anticipated Park City Song Summit but also the release of a limited edition vinyl from his brand-new musical venture, King Canyon.

Whatever you do, don’t go to Shoe Fest. Camp Shaw Waw Nas See is basically forgettable. The string-based bands all play at their own slots with no overlapping music. You’ll hate it.

“Welcome home, Terrapin Nation,” Phil Lesh proclaimed on July 9 to the large crowd before him on the expansive, lush lawn of McNears Beach Park on the shores of San Pablo Bay in San Rafael, Calif. Lesh, co-founder of the Grateful Dead and now 83, joined the so-called Terrapin All-Stars for the closing set of a first-ever, one-day Sunday Daydream festival, which began in the early morning with an aptly named Turtle Trot that included 5K, 10K, and kids races.

Borderland Festival, one of the region’s most popular music and art festivals, makes its return to Knox Farm State Park, just 15 minutes from downtown Buffalo, September 15th through the 17th.  That’s right – now a three-day festival starting on Friday, Borderland will celebrate its fifth year with more than 20 bands on 2 stages.
