Friday morning at Bonnaroo 2022 dawned hot and steamy like the preceding days. Many hardcore music fans were just getting ready to fall asleep in the muggy conditions. Then in mid-morning, clouds began to darken the sky, and the threat of thunderstorms shut down Centeroo for several hours. The blustery storm dropped a short downpour before quickly departing, and temperatures at the festival finally began to cool into more moderate summertime conditions.
Marcus King today announced the release of “Blues Worse Than I Ever Had,” the final preview track ahead of his forthcoming solo album, Young Blood, due August 26. The track, co-written with Dan Auerbach, has a laid back groove and saturating slide guitar which soundtrack King’s visceral vocal, reflecting on a moment of despair and the hope that lies beyond it. It was finally the official opening day (day two for us) for Bonnaroo 2022 on June 16 for the first time in three years. Although the festivities began in the campground two days earlier, the official festival didn’t start until Centeroo threw open its doors shortly after noon. Hot, sweaty temperatures sent many music fans straight to shady areas like trees, the iconic Centeroo water fountain, and the water park complete with white sand beaches.

“I always think like a singer when I play a Sting melody,” says acoustic guitarist extraordinaire TOMMY EMMANUEL, who today (August 4) releases his video for “Fields of Gold,” a stirring all-instrumental cover of the Sting gem he recorded with British acoustic guitar virtuoso Mike Dawes.
