The sixth annual Lockn' Festival got underway, Thursday, August 24th, with astonishingly perfect weather conditions. After weeks of torrential rains that caused evacuations in nearby Lynchburg because of flooding fears, the skies cleared with pleasantly warm temperatures and a chilly night creating a perfect backdrop for the festivals first day. The weather was all the more of a surprise following the cancellation of a three-day Phish music festival, held often in upstate New York, scheduled the weekend before Lockn'.

Austin concertgoers and travelers from all around the world are waiting patiently to attend the festival with an excellent lineup - Waterloo Music Festival! Here are some acts you don’t want to miss this weekend:

The String Cheese Incident

Whose Hat Is This?, a collaboration of Tedeschi Trucks Band members Tim Lefebvre, Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell, J.J. Johnson, and Kebbi Williams, are pleased to announce the release of their second album, Everything’s OK (Featuring Kokayi), set to release on November 16 via Ropeadope. The band combines meteoric musical heights with outlandish grooves. It's free-jazz you can dance to. Cecil Taylor could never say that.

Ziggy Marley, the 49-year-old son of legendary reggae superstar Bob Marley and Rita Marley, has been playing reggae music for longer than his father was alive.  At Ziggy's well-attended "Rebellion Rises" show at Thalia Hall, a diverse crowd showed their appreciation for Ziggy's newest material, songs from Ziggy's earlier solo albums, a song from his previous group Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, and of course several Bob Marley anthems.

With a style that is rooted in the classic country songstresses such as Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, and Emmylou Harris. Southern California singer/songwriter Alice Wallace’s impeccable vocals and melodic, literate song-crafting skills bring a fresh touch to authentic Americana music.
