I ask for a lot. Usually, when it comes to music, all I do is ask. “Can we afford a Phish festival this year?”, “Can we take the kids to this show?” and most importantly “Mike, can you get me into this show?” For those of you reading this after its won the Pulitzer and was picked up by the AP, let me set the stage. Mike Moran is the owner, founder, and editor of gratefulweb.com. It’s his pull that gets me into the shows. Our relationship is based solely on me asking and him obliging. But once in a great while, he does ask me to cover a show.

It was apparent looking out over the sea of silver-haired music fans at the sold-out Engelbert Humperdinck concert, that it would be a night of nostalgia, February 9th, at the Chumash Casino Resort. The show in the Samala showroom did begin as very much a walk down memory lane, with a film clip from the 1960’s of Dean Martin introducing a young Humperdinck to his television audience.

Revolutionary music may seem hard to come by in these days and times. Long gone is the era of artists like Bob Marley, The Clash, Stevie Wonder and Patti Smith getting airplay and bringing their messages to the masses. But that doesn’t mean that the revolution isn’t still brewing in the hearts and minds of many people around the globe.

The Stanley Hotel and Comedy Works Entertainment are proud to announce the first public event in the brand new $10 million Pavilion Amphitheater in Estes Park with back-to-back nights of hilarious stand-up comedy.  The celebration kicks off with SNL alumni Jim Breuer on April 20th and continues on Saturday, April 21st with the former host of NBC’s Marriage Ref and prolific stand-up comedian Tom Papa.

Hyryder is a Grateful Dead Tribute Band formed in Indianapolis, Indiana in the summer of 2008 and currently consists of Charlie Morgan (lead guitar and vocals), Nick Neureiter (drums and vocals), Eric Thompson (rhythm guitar and vocals), Scott Jackson (keyboard world and vocals) and Blair Ping (bass and vocals). The band was born out of an intense love and appreciation for the music of the Grateful Dead and a desire to help carry on this rich musical tradition.

After more than a year of long nights at the studio in between rehearsals and relentless legs of touring, Cousin Earth is ready to share their first full-length album, "Human Music." Known for their blistering ukulele solos, intricate rhythms, soaring vocal harmonies and unconventional instrumentation, the band showcases a broad spectrum of musical influences on this ten-song album, which will be available on all platforms Friday, April 27th.

"There are certain shows on any given tour that really stand out," says Mike Gantzer, vocalist and guitarist of the Buffalo-based quartet, Aqueous. He elaborates, "Maybe we were sleep-deprived, maybe it was a full moon – whatever it was, the Kalamazoo, MI show last November had that MAGIC."
