Phish's third show at The Palace on December 6, 1997 was yet another defining fall '97 gig, with an under-recognized set I and a renowned set II that must be heard in one sitting, preferably loud with headphones. Set I highlights include an intense second-song Run Like An Antelope, alien landscapes of Train Song and seamless pairings of Bathtub Gin > Foam and Fee > Maze.

The newest studio release from Ben Sollee is now available. Half-Made Man, Sollee’s self-produced fourth studio album, was released today on Sollee’s own Tin Ear Records and distributed by Thirty Tigers. The album features an exciting cast of musicians including guitarist Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket), fiddle player Jeremy Kittel (Turtle Island Quartet), bassist Alana Rocklin, percussionist Jordon Ellis and guest vocalist Abigail Washburn.

Non-profit HeadCount.org Rallies over 200 Musicians, Actors and Comedians to Support "National Voter Registration Day"The largest social media-driven voter registration campaign ever was unleashed today by the non-partisan organization HeadCount, to mark the inaugural National Voter Registration Day. More than 200 celebrities and musicians from 50 Cent to George Lopez to Dave Matthews took photos holding up HeadCount's "Register To Vote" clipboards.

Chris Robinson, front man for The Black Crowes, has been touring around with a band he calls The Chris Robinson Brotherhood. It’s wonderful to see such a prominent figure like Robinson play in intimate venues like the Fox, close up, starting from scratch. The Brotherhood sounds a lot like The Grateful Dead.

A free concert with bluegrass supergroup The Travelin’ McCourys & Friends will take place immediately after the Tennessee Titans’ game on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Cumberland Park, 592 South 1st Street in Nashville, in the shadow of the Titans’ stadium on the banks of the Cumberland River.

Just in time for their fall tour, Ruff Shod/Nettwork recording artists Elephant Revival are releasing IT’S ALIVE, a seven-song EP, plus an illustrated hardcover songbook containing lyrics from the Colorado quintet’s first two albums and the EP. It also contains a bonus digital-download card for three songs not included on IT’S ALIVE.
