Finger Lakes GrassRoots

As the year winds down and the snow moves in over the Trumansburg Fairgrounds we find ourselves filled with gratitude for all of the love we shared throughout our first ever Finger Lakes GrassRoots Live! this past summer. We can't thank you, our GrassRoots Family, all enough for your patience and support as we safely returned for a safe experience of what GrassRoots Festival means to us all.

As Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival returns for the first time in 2 years this weekend we couldn't be more excited to welcome everyone back to the farm! But as we know that not all of you will be able to make it in-person, we are excited to announce that Friday and Saturday night of the festival will be available to watch LIVE from anywhere through a high definition multi-camera live stream broadcast by StageIt and Event Webcasting!

We hope this beautiful spring Saturday finds you well wherever you may be. Down here in North Carolina we are so excited that GrassRoots Live! continues TONIGHT with the Grammy Award-Winning bluegrass legend The Del McCoury Band LIVE from our Meadow Stage! Wish you could be here? Well, we've got you covered!

After an amazing return starting with Keller Williams, we are gearing up for 4 weekends in a row of GrassRoots Live! down here at Shakori Hills all kicking off this Saturday, May 1st at 7 PM ET with the Grammy Award-winning bluegrass legend the Sam Bush Band and Fireside Collective. Tickets are moving quickly and will be available at at the gate, but if you can't make it in person then you are in luck!

This Saturday, after 18 months since our last GrassRoots Festival in October 2019, the incredibly talented Keller Williams will take the stage in Shakori Hills, North Carolina for the first live in-person show of our GrassRoots Live! at Shakori Hills concert series and we want you to share in this momentous occasion with us!

As the world continues to get closer to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is clear that that we are not at the end of the tunnel just yet. Although vaccine distribution is increasing and COVID rates are declining, after much discussion, the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance cannot in good conscience guarantee the communities' health and safety this summer and will be postponing its 30th Annual to July 21-24, 2022. The preceding 5th Annual Culture Camp will be postponed to July 17-20, 2022.

The 29th Annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance will take place Thursday, July 18th - Sunday, July 21st at the Trumansburg Fairgrounds in Trumansburg, NY. Featuring over 75 carefully curated bands on 4 Stages over the course of 4 Days - our festival is designed to dazzle you with diversity rather than wow you with big names. Sure, we have our fair share of “headlining” acts, but it’s the bands you have never heard that may impress you the most.

Over the past few decades, the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance has grown to be more than just a single event in Trumansburg, NY and this year the latest addition to the roster returns for its sophomore year: the GrassRoots Culture Camp 2017 runs from Sunday through Wednesday, July 16-19, the four days leading up to the 27th annual GrassRoots Festival which takes place July 20-23. Both the camp and the festival are held at the Trumansburg Fairgrounds.

The annual Fingerlakes Grassroots Festival held in Trumansburg, NY just north of Ithaca was an all-you-can-eat buffet of sounds, sights, and activities.  True to the nature of a buffet, if a concert goer tried to take in everything; including over 60 bands (and several collaborations between them), the various activities, dance troupes, and food they would surely make themselves sick and very very exhausted.

The 16th Annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance will be held from July 20-23 at the Trumansburg Fairgrounds in Trumansburg, NY.  This year's headliners include hit country singer John Anderson, politically conscious reggae hip-hoppers Michael Franti & Spearhead, African music legend Thomas Mapfumo & Blacks Unlimited, Rajasthani gypsy-Indian fusion band
