The Magpie Salute

Not much has been heard from Grace Potter since her appearance last year at her signature music festival, Grand Point North, a small-scale two-day fest staged on the edge of Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont. Potter was going through a host of personal changes in 2017 and had put music aside for much of the year. But she was back on stage this weekend, headlining both nights of the fest with a new – and very able – backing band, and debuting a handful of songs slated for a forthcoming album that Potter hopes to release in 2019.

THE MAGPIE SALUTE is an exciting new band that features musicians who have played together for decades throughout various projects and share a musical bond. The band brings Rich Robinson, the guitarist and co-founding member of The Black Crowes, together with two key members of Crowes fame - guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Sven Pipien - alongside drummer Joe Magistro and guitarist Nico Bereciartua.

THE MAGPIE SALUTE--which brings together the reunited guitar team of Rich Robinson and Marc Ford from the Black Crowes and bassist Sven Pipien (also from the Crowes) with other dynamic musicians and co-ed singers from around the world--is set to return to New York, NY for back-to-back headlining shows Wednesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 16 at Irving Plaza as they wrap their extensive 60-date U.S. tour which began in July. Coming off eight European dates earlier this month--a mix of headline shows and festival appearances--THE MAGPIE SALUTE will launch their much-anticipated first-ever U.S. concert tour July 26 in Indianapolis. The extensive summer-into-fall outing with 59 shows including two-night engagements in Chicago (Metro), San Francisco (The Fillmore) and New York City (Irving Plaza) and festivals before wrapping November 17 in Atlantic City.

THE MAGPIE SALUTE--a new band bringing together Rich Robinson, Marc Ford and Sven Pipien of The Black Crowes--will release their self-titled debut album worldwide on June 9 via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Following the roaring success of four back-to-back sold-out dates at The Gramercy Theatre in New York over the weekend, The Magpie Salute have announced their debut UK performance at London’s Under The Bridge on April 12th. To coincide with the announcement, Planet Rock have today premiered a brand-new clip of the band performing ‘War Drums’.
