Jesse Welles Doubles Down in Denver: Second Ogden Theatre Date Added

Singer-songwriter Jesse Welles has earned a reputation as one of modern music’s most fearless troubadours. After announcing a single Ogden Theatre date for October 29, 2025, 97.3 KBCO is thrilled to add a second night on October 30, responding to overwhelming fan demand. This two-night engagement brings Welles’s raw, unflinching storytelling to Denver, showcasing the songs and sentiments that have drawn tens of millions of streams and acclaim from Rolling Stone, The New York Times and beyond.

Hailing from Ozark, Arkansas, Welles’s early years were shaped by library CDs, a $56 “first-act” Walmart guitar and a family steeped in mechanics and teaching. He cut his teeth on classics by Dylan, Mitchell, Baez and Guthrie, then struck out for Nashville, logging over 280 shows in a single year alongside Royal Blood, Highly Suspect, Greta Van Fleet and Dead Sara. Even after parting ways with his label during the pandemic and a stint at a vegan meat manufacturer, Welles returned to his roots—literally—to create music that speaks directly to life’s toughest realities.

In February 2024, following his father’s heart attack, Welles recorded himself performing original songs like “Cancer,” “Fentanyl” and “War Isn’t Murder” in the rugged Ozark woods. Those viral videos propelled him to more than one million Instagram followers, culminating in the release of two urgent albums—Hells Welles and Patchwork—and sold-out headline tours. His scathing indictment of the healthcare industry, “United Health,” was hailed by Rolling Stone as “a John Prine-like ballad.”

Now, with his new album Middle and its lead single “Horses,” Jesse Welles enters a new chapter. “It’s a pro-love song,” he explains. “Fear leads to hate. Hate leads to atrocities… If you love everyone, it’s easier on you—and everybody else.” With a career defined by truth-telling and heart-on-sleeve conviction, Welles invites audiences to turn on their phones, pick up a guitar—or a paintbrush—and speak their own truths.
