About Running Through My Mind
Following up on his acclaimed 2024 album Tree of Life, Bailis returns with his most cohesive work to date. The album features six original compositions alongside inspired renditions of Stevie Wonder’s “Joy Inside My Tears” and Donnie Hathaway’s “Jealous Guy.”
Highlights include:
-
“Ordinary Trash” – a colorful soundscape that introduces Bailis’ unmistakable guitar voice.
-
“Telepathy” – interplay between Bailis and Links in the upper register creates an otherworldly effect.
-
“Zenith” – a charming jazz waltz, contrasted with the stormy intensity of “Comet.”
-
Solo interpretations of Wonder and Hathaway showcase Bailis’ nuanced touch and emotional depth.
The quintet achieves a rare feat: blending seamlessly as an electric ensemble, creating a sound greater than the sum of its parts.
