Kendall Street Company is proud to announce the release of their brand-new single, “Song for Colorado,” the first taste of their upcoming psych folk record. A sweeping folk-country ballad inspired by the band’s many tours through the Rocky Mountains, the song has already been described as a modern-day “Rocky Mountain High.”

With vivid storytelling, a soaring chorus, and a rare whistle solo from drummer Ryan Wood, “Song for Colorado” captures both the majesty and intimacy of the high country. It’s a love letter to the Colorado landscape, echoing the timeless songwriting of John Prine, John Denver, Jesse Welles, and John Craigie, while staying rooted in Kendall Street Company’s adventurous, genre-bending sound.

“This track was born at Aunt Ann’s house, a Foco home that’s been a haven for us while touring the Rockies,” the band shares. “We were loafing in the kitchen and the first line popped out over a roast and we guffawed about it for many long hours. The rest of the song wrote itself in the wee hours of the night when Louis took a spirit journey into the mountains to complete his tasks”

The band has coordinated this release to coincide with their upcoming tour in Colorado which will see them at a number of venues across the Front Range
