Today, TheBigWonderful (TBW) reveals details for the 4th annual Oktobergrass, hosting Denver’s premiere fall bluegrass festival with BEERFEST, BANDS, and BAZAAR over two days - September 30-October 1 - at the at the old Denver Post building (4400 Fox St.) in Globeville. Bringing together the greatest of Denver’s vibrant craft vending, food, beer and music scenes, TheBigWonderful’s Oktobergrass continues their innovative tradition of being a one-stop shop for the best-of-the best in Denver culture.

There’s always been something mythical about Fleet Foxes’ music; those intricate harmonies and swelling arrangements intertwined with frontman Robin Pecknold’s often-lofty poetry convey intimacy while conjuring up Homeric images of cloudy mountain forests, stormy seas, and some connection to the spirit of the earth long-since forgotten. As such, there’s a risk when bringing their music to the stage that something will get lost in translation.

Chicago singer-guitarist Ryan Herrick announced that proceeds of his new EP will benefit humanitarian projects taking place in one of the most economically challenged areas of the United States: the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

Chicago band Local Motive’s leader Mike Vinopal announced that their show Sat. 8/12 at The Elbo Room will be their vinyl release party for their first LP.  The night will feature sets from Local Motive as well as Flowtone, The Fonzie Scheme, & Bishop. The show starts at 8pm. $10 at the door.

So far 2017 has been a year of leaps and bounds for Minneapolis's funk bringers, PHO.  They kicked off the year with a short run with The Motet, spent Mardi Gras opening up for the Eric Krasno Band, played a packed hometown show at the Triple Rock on Prince's Memorial Day, performed a successful run of shows in Colorado, and released their highly anticipated sophomore album, two, with it debuting at #10 on the Relix/Jamband Radio Charts.

The Central Coast of California has become a bit of a no man's land for hard rock and especially heavy metal bands since the dawn of the millennium. Santa Barbara County, home to copious amounts of live pop music has seen very little in the way of hardcore rock as of late. One of the last great heavy metal shows at the Santa Barbara Bowl was by the infamous rock band Tool in 1999. That amazing show landed the group a $50,000 fine for playing after the 10 PM curfew and playing too loud.

Produced by multi-Grammy-winning producer Jim Gaines, Waiting for the Train was recorded at the Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, with additional recording at Bessie Blue Studio in Stantonville, Tennessee.
