Abramorama announced today that they have acquired distribution rights to Jesse Lauter’s music documentary Learning To Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen. An electrifying documentary jam-packed with music spotlighting the celebrated “Mad Dogs & Englishmen,” Joe Cocker’s short-lived tour featuring a mammoth thirty-piece band, told through the lens of the reunion of 12 remaining band members, 45 years later, to perform with Grammy Award-winning Tedeschi Trucks at the Lockn’ Festival.

In the decade since her debut album, Spell of the Light Pink Pearl, Laura Mihalka has been busy. She played Cello with and joined the board of the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra (CHICO); accompanied artists such as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros front man Alex Ebert, Kenny Loggins, and Jennifer Terran; worked on countless indie surfer films and commercials with composer Todd Hannigan; and raised her two grown daughters--one who plays cello at Cal Poly SLO and the other who is a music major at Cal Arts.

Based on the songwriting team of drummer and producer Joey Peters; guitarist, singer/songwriter and producer Rich McCulley, and bassist, singer/songwriter and producer Ted Russell Kamp, Stash has been writing, recording and singing songs about life and love, striving and surviving, yearning and learning, and pain and cheating.  All three met while living in Los Angeles where they had all moved to better hone their craft. “It’s where we could take our careers as far as we possibly could,” states McCulley.

True Love Cast Out All Evil: The Songwriting Legacy of Roky Erickson is due out November 15, 2021 through Texas A&M University Press. “Roky was one of Texas’ most original and unique singer-songwriters,” author Brian T. Atkinson says. “His short time fronting the psychedelic rock pioneers the 13th Floor Elevators in the ’60s made him a cult legend, but his 50-year solo career that followed was barely noticed.

Hailing from Hammond, Indiana and currently based in Nashville, Tennessee, Americana artist Kiely Connell blends working-class Rust Belt grit with Southern charm, defying regional classification and painting a detailed portrait of a life in modern America. On her debut LP, Calumet Queen, Connell pays tribute to her hometown near the Calumet River that shaped her personality while reflecting on the struggles one must endure to thrive in a harsh and often isolating world.

On September 17, Sunset Blvd. Records is releasing the live recordings of Texas song stylist Mance Lipscomb. Called “Navasota,” Mance was born just outside there on April 9, 1895.

Nashville-based artist Phillip-Michael Scales unleashes “Another Man’s Sin,” the smoldering new single from his forthcoming LP Sinner-Songwriter, set for release on October 29th via Dixie Frog Records.
