Mandolin Orange

As day 4 of Bonnaroo 2017 dawned warm and humid, four days on nearly nonstop celebration began to take its toll on exhausted concert goers. Some began to pack up their campsites and headed to the exits to get an early start on their long treks homeward. Many others just collapsed in any cool shady spot they could find for a long-delayed sleep.

On a daunting overcast day at one of the nation’s most beautiful venues, nothing could put a cloud on the positivity that radiates from all angles of the band that calls themselves Elephant Revival. And in true form, they invited many friends as guests to play along with them on this evening at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The stage was ornate, and had evidence of aerial cloths and a drum circle formed in the top middle of the stage.

Named by Rolling Stone as one of the “11 Best Things We Saw” at Merlefest, Chapel Hill, North Carolina-based Mandolin Orange announce the first leg of their fall tour, which includes stops in the Midwest and East Coast. After notable summer festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Red Wing Roots, Forecastle, Newport Folk Festival and Pickathon, the duo’s 19-city fall tour will begin September 17 in Bristol, TN.
