“If you book them, they will come,” says the fictionalized, desert dwelling Jim Morrison in “Wayne’s World 2.” Pretty sound advice when you’re booking top end talent like Aerosmith circa 1993 for an inaugural festival, but what about a band that’s never performed together?
2016 was a year that much of the country would like to do over. Between deaths, elections and Kanye West, it was year of unremarkable lows. However, for Chicago, IL, 2016 was granted a hassle-free All Access Pass when the Chicago Cubs, the beloved baseball team from the North Side, broke a 108-year drought and won the World Series.
On March 6, 2017, our beloved Fox Theater turns 25 years old. The Motet’s show on Friday, March 17th, will be a part of a month-long celebration. This quarter-century milestone of rock ’n’ roll history will feature a number of high-profile shows at the Fox Theatre. Stay tuned for a big announcement in early January!
Funk-flash masters The Motet out of Denver, CO are releasing TOTEM on July 8, 2016, the 7th LP since their inception in 1998. The Motet consists of Dave Watts (drums), Garrett Sayers (bass), Joey Porter (keyboards), Ryan Jalbert (guitar), Gabriel Mervine (trumpet), and Drew Sayers (saxophone), and recently added Lyle Divinsky (vocals) with TOTEM being his first album with the group
Colorado’s own progressive funk outfit The Motet returns to their hometown for a headlining show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Friday, July 22. Joining The Motet on the bill are Medeski Martin & Wood and Vulfpeck, with DJ Mikey Thunder spinning between sets. The show comes just two weeks after the release of The Motet’s brand new studio album, Totem, set to hit streets July 8, 2016.
Today, Colorado-based funk rock band The Motet announce the release of their new studio album, Totem, due out July 8th, 2016. Produced by Lettuce and Soulive guitarist Eric Krasno, Totem was written collectively by the seven members of the band.
