The 2025 Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival wrapped up five unforgettable days of music, sunset, and community this past weekend at the scenic Walsh Farm in the Great Northern Catskills. With picture-perfect weather and music fans from more than 30 states and a dozen countries, this year’s festival was one of the most successful to date.

After completing a massive conservation project in Barre, Massachusetts last year – one that has permanently protected over 800 acres of fields, forests and farmland – Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust and Stone Cow Brewery are teaming up once again to host their third annual Fields & Forest Forever Music Fest to celebrate and benefit local land conservation on Saturday, August 2.

I do not typically attend music festivals two years in a row. As a journalist who reviews festivals, I usually choose different ones each season, circling back only every few years to see how promoters have improved things. Yet over the Fourth of July weekend, I found myself once again at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park for the Grassfire Festival—barely a year since my last visit.
