Big-name headliners Lenny Kravitz (Friday), Sublime (Saturday), and Alanis Morissette (Sunday) led the way on the massive High Tide (the official main stage with its enormous viewing-area lawn of artificial but lush, cool grass) and Low Tide (in front of an expansive sandy beach) stages, with big 90-minute sets in front of up to 11,000 jolly souls. Other mighty 60 and 75-minute alternating performances on the High and Low Tide stages were delivered by such acclaimed performers as Train, The Beach Boys (with John Stamos), the Pretenders, Jackson Browne, Mt. Joy, Marcus King, Cake, Skip Marley, Susanna Hoffs, and Aloe Blacc.

Today, the Silverlake Conservatory Of Music proudly unveils Our Loving Tribute to the Pretenders—an EP featuring three iconic Pretenders covers performed by the SCM All-Stars, an ensemble of the Conservatory’s exceptional youth musicians. Executive produced by Flea, bassist and founding member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, alongside Merck Mercuriadis, founder of Hipgnosis Songs, the project showcases the passion and skill of the Conservatory’s talented students.

The Pretenders have announced plans for a US summer headline tour, getting underway July 13 at Red Bank, NJ’s historic Count Basie Center for the Arts, and then continuing into mid-August. The second annual Arroyo Seco Music Festival took place on the third longest day of the year, Saturday, June 23rd, bringing in the summer concert season in grand style. The two-day festival was organized by Goldenvoice, the same organization responsible for the most auspicious festival in the country, Coachella. The Arroyo Seco festival was held in a beautiful tree-lined meadow, just outside the Rose Bowl, in the affluent suburbs of Pasadena.
