The String Revolution

Musical integrity still matters, as illustrated by guitar trio The String Revolution and guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel winning the Grammy® Award this past Sunday (2/4) in the “Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella” category for their unique reimagining of Johnny Cash’s classic “Folsom Prison Blues.” Sharing the Grammy Award with them is The Man in Black’s son John Carter Cash, who produced the single.

The String Revolution and Tommy Emmanuel’s fans are cheering them on, because their instrumental arrangement of Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” is nominated for a Grammy Award for best arrangement (instrumental or acapella).

The Australian-born superstar guitarist posted on his social media this past Friday, “So honored to get a Grammy® nomination with The String Revolution!!”

The combination of guitar trio The String Revolution and Tommy Emmanuel join forces to create a match made in guitar heaven in recording and re-imagining the Johnny Cash classic “Folsom Prison Blues.” When approaching the recording of such a classic, The String Revolution wanted to feature the genius of Tommy Emmanuel in order to do the track justice.

Los Angeles-based label Tallest Man Records has released a stunning flamenco-tinged cover of iconic rock anthem “Crazy Train” from the String Revolution featuring Steve Stevens. This collaboration came together to pay tribute to the legendary guitar player Randy Rhoads and in particular his love for classical guitar.
