It's been nearly two years since Gramatik dropped his seminal album, The Age of Reason, in partnership with BitTorrent, quickly becoming the platform's third most downloaded artist in 2014. Since then Gramatik has embarked on several world tours, leaving only the occasional weekend off to record. He used the downtime wisely, painstakingly crafting his most sonically sprawling and ambitious record yet.
Those lucky enough to score a "miracle" ticket to the Fare Thee Well concerts this summer were treated to some potent psychedelic jams during the shows’ intermissions. The mysterious group behind those freewheeling tunes was Circles Around the Sun, a band convened by guitarist Neal Casal specifically for the project.

The CRB's now annual end of the year run through San Francisco occurs this year at The Fillmore for two nights.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood announce today that Tony Leone has joined the band on drums. His first performance with The CRB will be this coming weekend at the Sunshine Music & Blues Festival in Florida followed by a 14-date tour across the Midwest and East Coast in February. Leone's arrival follows the departure of the band's original drummer George Sluppick.

Karl Denson has announced that he will join The Rolling Stones on saxophone for nine shows in Australia and New Zealand on their 14 On Fire tour. The shows start at the end of the month in Adelaide and run into late November. The acclaimed reedman, songwriter and bandleader is best known for fronting the prolific touring juggernaut, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, who regularly perform over 150 shows a year. Their most recent album, New Ammo, was released in February 2014.
