Today, The Greyboy Allstars share "December’s Bicycle" from the forthcoming reissue of their second studio album, A Town Called Earth, set for release September 16 via the band's own Knowledge Room Recordings in collaboration with Light In The Attic.

One of the last surviving members of the Triumvirate of American Funk Godfathers, George Clinton, brought an army of Funk-inspired musicians to the new YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Along with James Brown and Sly Stone, the 82-year-old Clinton is considered one of the founders of the Funk music genre. The concert was the final lap of the One Nation Under a Groove Tour, billed as George Clinton and P Funk’s farewell tour.

"New Path" is Reed Mathis’ rearrangement of the 2nd movement of Beethoven's Piano Sonata #8. When saxophonist Karl Denson (Rolling Stones, Greyboy Allstars, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe) and Mathis began talking about how we would approach this classic piece of music, they hit immediately on our shared love of Charlie Parker.

For its second iteration, North Beach Music Festival plans to take over the Miami Beach Bandshell and adjacent Bandshell Park over three days—the 9th to the 11th—this December. Catskill Mountain Jubilee is returning to Blackthorne Resort in East Durham for its second annual event this Aug. 11 to 14. This year features four nights of music, with two full performances from Dark Star Orchestra Fri. Aug 12 and Sat. Aug 13, two sets from The Disco Biscuits Sun. Aug. 14, plus Chali 2na and Cut Chemist on Thu. Aug 11.

Sheryl Crow gets it – the beach life, that is. “All I wanna do is have some fun, until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard,” Crow sang on Sunday during a twilight set on the sand at Redondo Beach, just 15 miles south of the oceanfront Santa Monica Pier. One of the BeachLife Festival’s high-profile performers who first made waves toward prominence in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s, Crow shared top billing with Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, 311, and the Steve Miller Band (who’s first hit was in 1968).

The Greyboy Allstars returned to the Brooklyn Bowl last Friday night, wrapping up a stellar two night run at the storied venue in Brooklyn, NY's Williamsburg neighborhood. They are in the middle of the 2022 Get a Job Tour to promote their brand new album, Get a Job: Music from the Original Broadcast Series Soul Dream. This San Diego, Ca based squad dynamically elevated the Get a Job tunes as well as originals with a classy performance.
