The Wood Brothers announced their eighth studio album, Heart Is The Hero, will be released April 14 via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers. Recorded analog to 16-track tape direct from the studio floor with nary a computer in sight, brothers Oliver and Chris Wood, along with honorary sibling Jano Rix, stripped back their sound to its elemental core, focusing on the impact of the performances over studio perfection.

In the early 1990s, Neal Casal spent much of his free time on outdoor adventures with his close friends Eric and Libby McDonald near their house in rural Wisconsin. It was a beautiful, idyllic time that stunningly and sadly was broken by the kidnapping and murder of a 12-year old local girl, Cora Jones. The community was devastated by this awful event and Casal was particularly affected to think such horror could randomly come to this special place he loved to visit.

The Wood Brothers have extended their 2023 tour plans with the announcement of 20 additional shows in late Winter and Spring. The dates will cover a wide range of ground, including stops in the Midwest, upstate New York, the Southeast and Colorado. Among the highlights along the way are performances at the Lexington Opera House in Lexington, KY, Town Ballroom in Buffalo, NY, The Walker Theatre in Chattanooga, TN and Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO.

Psychedelic-jam-rock-experimental group Circles Around The Sun have officially revealed the details of their fourth full-length studio album, Language, set to release this coming spring via Megaforce Records. The group – comprised of Adam MacDougall (keyboards & synths), Dan Horne (bass), Mark Levy (drums) and John Lee Shannon (guitar) – has released a new single alongside the announcement of the album. Today, The Headhunters release Speakers In The House, the legendary jazz-funk ensemble's first new album in 11 years. Co-lead by percussionist Bill Summers and drummer Mike Clark with support from NEA Jazz Master Donald Harrison on alto saxophone, The Headhunters latest studio effort arrives just in time to celebrate this American music institution's 50th anniversary in 2023, having formed around Herbie Hancock's classic recording, Head Hunters, in 1973.

The Wood Brothers have announced nine West Coast shows in Winter 2023. The tour kicks off on January 31 with a two night stand at Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA.  It continues north with stops at Ventura Music Hall in Ventura, The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA, Bally's Lake Tahoe Casino Resort in Stateline, NV and The Rio Theatre in Santa Cruz, CA. The run concludes with three shows in the Northwest, including Midtown Ballroom in Bend, OR, Neptune Theatre in Seattle, WA and Revolution Hall in Portland, OR.

Today, The Headhunters share "Rocking At The Mole House" (listen/share), the first single from the legendary jazz-funk quintet's forthcoming album, Speakers In The House, out November 4 on Ropeadope Records. Opening with a New Orleans press roll beat, which nods to the home of four of the five current band members, it quickly transitions to the signature funk synths and alto sax lines that the band has been revered for going on nearly 50 years.

Synth-Wave Rock Band, Doom Flamingo, have announced the release of their debut live album, In The Rain, for next Friday, October 7. The album pulls from explosive summer shows this summer, which, by bizarre coincidence, were all affected by the elements, especially the rain.

Coming in hot on December 11, 2021 for the final show of their second run of the pandemic, legendary North California, cosmic rock stalwarts Howlin Rain hit Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown California full of adrenalized confidence, deep grooves and their signature, expansive guitarmony-laden jams.

The Greyboy Allstars have announced New Year's Eve plans with a three night run, December 29 through December 31, at The Casbah in San Diego, CA. Comprised by Karl Denson (saxophone, flute), Elgin Park (guitars), Robert Walter (keys), Chris Stillwell (bass) and Aaron Redfield (drums), The Greyboy Allstars will be joined on these hometown performances by DJ Greyboy for whom the band was named after while collaborating with the legendary turntablist back in 1993.
