The Wood Brothers announced their eighth studio album, Heart Is The Hero, will be released April 14 via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers. Recorded analog to 16-track tape direct from the studio floor with nary a computer in sight, brothers Oliver and Chris Wood, along with honorary sibling Jano Rix, stripped back their sound to its elemental core, focusing on the impact of the performances over studio perfection.

In the early 1990s, Neal Casal spent much of his free time on outdoor adventures with his close friends Eric and Libby McDonald near their house in rural Wisconsin. It was a beautiful, idyllic time that stunningly and sadly was broken by the kidnapping and murder of a 12-year old local girl, Cora Jones. The community was devastated by this awful event and Casal was particularly affected to think such horror could randomly come to this special place he loved to visit.

The dates will cover a wide range of ground, including stops in the Midwest, upstate New York, the Southeast and Colorado. Among the highlights along the way are performances at the Lexington Opera House in Lexington, KY, Town Ballroom in Buffalo, NY, The Walker Theatre in Chattanooga, TN and Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO.

Psychedelic-jam-rock-experimental group Circles Around The Sun have officially revealed the details of their fourth full-length studio album, Language, set to release this coming spring via Megaforce Records. It continues north with stops at Ventura Music Hall in Ventura, The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA, Bally's Lake Tahoe Casino Resort in Stateline, NV and The Rio Theatre in Santa Cruz, CA. The run concludes with three shows in the Northwest, including Midtown Ballroom in Bend, OR, Neptune Theatre in Seattle, WA and Revolution Hall in Portland, OR.

Today, The Headhunters share "Rocking At The Mole House" (listen/share), the first single from the legendary jazz-funk quintet's forthcoming album, Speakers In The House, out November 4 on Ropeadope Records. The Greyboy Allstars have announced New Year's Eve plans with a three night run, December 29 through December 31, at The Casbah in San Diego, CA. Comprised by Karl Denson (saxophone, flute), Elgin Park (guitars), Robert Walter (keys), Chris Stillwell (bass) and Aaron Redfield (drums), The Greyboy Allstars will be joined on these hometown performances by DJ Greyboy for whom the band was named after while collaborating with the legendary turntablist back in 1993.
