With his new remix album, Deciphering The Message, the Chicago-based drummer, producer, and beat scientist Makaya McCraven digs through the vaults of the legendary jazz label Blue Note Records to put a modern bounce on classics by Art Blakey, Horace Silver, Hank Mobley, Kenny Burrell, and Eddie Gale, among others.

Today, The Felice Brothers have released “To-Do List,” the final pre-release single from their forthcoming album From Dreams To Dust out on September 17, 2021 via Yep Roc Records. The band also announced that Al Olender and Nik Freitas will support their national tour which kicks off on September 15 at Space Ballroom in Hamden, CT and will make stops in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and many more. The Country Music Hall of Fame has announced that Ray Charles has been inducted as an official member. Charles, who revolutionized the country genre and brought it to new audiences with albums like 1962’s Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music, will be inducted in the "Veterans Era Artist" category.

Last week, Jackson Browne released his new album Downhill From Everywhere via Inside Recordings. Ahead of his tour with James Taylor, which kicks off tomorrow at the United Center in Chicago, Browne shared a ‘live from home’ video for the album single “My Cleveland Heart.” The video features Browne along with his longtime guitarist and “My Cleveland Heart” co-writer Val McCallum, and engineer Kevin Smith.

Jackson Browne released his new album Downhill From Everywhere via Inside Recordings. In support of the record, Browne will tour the US with James Taylor starting next week on Thursday, July 29 at the United Center in Chicago. NPR/West Virginia Public Broadcasting's live performance radio show Mountain Stage has announced they will present at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C.. The show will take place on Sunday, October 24th at the prestigious venue's Concert Hall and is among 120+ events celebrating The Kennedy Center's 50th Anniversary 2021-2022 Season.

The Nashville-via-London duo Ida Mae shared their new song “Learn To Love You Better” from their upcoming sophomore album Click Click Domino. Ida Mae writes, “'Learn To Love You Better' was written for a friend of ours who was wildly and selflessly in love with a partner struggling with mental health issues and wanting to do everything right. It was written on a late 1800s Mandolinetto which we later combined with 70s analogue drum machines- inspired by JJ Cale and John Martyn.

Arriving just ahead of Independence Day weekend, "Calling On America" follows in the grand tradition of tender R&B cultural commentary epitomized by soul poets like Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye. Today, saxophonist Dave McMurray released a new rendition of the Grateful Dead’s 1975 song “Franklin’s Tower.” The track is taken from McMurray’s upcoming album Grateful Deadication, out July 16th via Blue Note Records.
