In 1917, the United States of America bought the Virgin Islands from Denmark for twenty-five million dollars, acquiring such unique island gems as St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John. On May 16, 2005, I arrived at one of the most spectacular vacation spots in the world, Maho Bay Camps, on the island of St. John and lived an enlightening week of low-impact vacationing and high-impact wonder.

Sloppy Roast Beef was formed in the summer of 2002 when six close friends decided to take their guitar driven original rock and roll sound out of the basement and into the public eye.
At the time of "The Beef's" inception, three of the band's members, A.J. Davidson, Michael Moore, and Zac Davidson, were playing with the group "Jo Digs" while the other three members, Andrew Teague, Nick Edwards, and Derek Lewis, played in the band known as "Sweet Automatic".
Phil Lesh was in Denver autographing his new book, Searching for the Sound, and we were there to meet him. The Tattered Cover hosted the event. At least 500 on hand to have their books signed. Phil started autographing books around 7PM, 30 minutes early; no doubt the good crowd prompted this. We were probably 200th on line and Phil was taking about 20 - 30 seconds chatting with most people.

SPOOKIE DALY PRIDE is a four piece band from Boston Massachusetts that delivers high energy, joyful hip hop-infused roots rock, with deep soulful grooves and catchy, hookfilled songs. On the strength of their songs alone, SDP would be stylin', but their uplifting, live performances gives them that extra something that takes them to 11. The music and the show truly defy comparisons, though Tom Waits fronting the Muppet band keeps popping up!

Out of all the miracles recorded in religious texts, history and fiction, I think Jesus' first miracle is my favorite. After all, what is better than turning water into wine? This got me into the most rewarding hobby I have every tried – home brewing.
Turning water into wine is hardly a miracle, though it will take you more time than it did Jesus. The equipment to get started is around $75. Any home brew store can help you get started. You can use a lot of this same equipment to make beer as well, though beer is a little more difficult than wine to make.
