SunSquabi has announced an intimate benefit concert that will take place on Dec. 7th at the Bluebird Theater in support of the Can’d Aid Foundation. The just-announced performance follows the band’s primetime slot at the inaugural Grandoozy festival this past September, and their performance alongside Opiuo at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in April. SunSquabi will provide fans the rare opportunity to catch the ever flourishing band in a smaller, more intimate setting while performing two unique sets back-to-back with all the proceeds going to the Can’d Aid Foundation. SunSquabi has been donating $1 per ticket to Can’d Aid from every show for their last two nationwide tours.

The Colorado-based Can’d Aid Foundation’s mission is “spreading people-powered do-goodery” through Towns, Tunes, Treads + Trails and Love Yur Mama efforts nationwide.” Examples of such “do-goodery,” includes sending water to affected communities, providing flood relief and even supporting art programs via the power of music.

Colorado-based hydro-funk trio Sunsquabi has invited some of their closest friends and musical peers to REMIX their latest release Instinct. Chris Karns, Late Night Radio and Nobide will all be featured on REMIXES, each putting their own stylish spin on the track of their choice.

DMC World Champion and turntable wizard Chris Karns is the first up in the REMIX series with his take on the track PANGOLIN. Available on all platforms Aug. 23rd, Karns took his intimate knowledge of the song and used the remix as an opportunity to dive deeper into its’ bouncy vibe giving it a more head nodding lilt and peppering it with lighting quick turntable cuts and hip-hop samples.

Instinct is a biological-themed journey of evolution. With the addition of Josh Fairman (bass/synth bass) last year and new levels of compositional prowess and sound design, it is evident that the group is dedicated to forward trajectory and experimentation. Each song’s namesake inspired by a creature or biological element is a reflection of every track taking on a distinct life of its own.

About SunSquabi

There’s a place, deep in the cosmos, where jam bands and electronic dance music intersect with rhythm-driven funk. You’ll feel like you’re floating here but not lost completely to the atmospheric elements. Instead, you’re tethered to an avant-garde spaceship with Colorado-based SunSquabi on the frequency. This cosmic wonderland is a melting pot of a variety of musical genres and it represents the future of music.

A three-piece suit - SunSquabi has been catching the eyes and ears of music fans around the world with their ever-evolving sound in the studio and on the live stage. SunSquabi has gained national attention for their unique way of producing music. The band’s live show can be described as an ‘Electronic Hydro Funk Experience’ that is different every single time out. SunSquabi continues to break down and analyze the expectations of what a “Live-Electronic” band should be. The band unveiled their debut EP with All Good Records, titled, ‘Odyssey’ which featured artists GRiZ and Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic. Their 2nd EP ‘Deluxe’ was a sophomore success with the label that continued where Odyssey left off. The band has now released 2 singles ‘Just A Little’ and ‘Caterpillar’ ahead of their upcoming 2018 release.

Combining the talents of Kevin Donohue (guitars/keys/production) Josh Fairman (bassist/synth) and Chris Anderson (drums). This project is a disciplined and structured group. It takes a seasoned musician to stay in the pocket for the sake of building well-developed lines and climaxes. To do that seamlessly requires patience and skill. “It’s kinda like breathing, honestly. We can communicate directly with each other both verbally and non-verbally, onstage and off.” That connection will take the music collectively where we all want to go.” – Kevin Donohue

Colorado electronic jam band hybrid trio SunSquabi delivers their seventh album, their third live one, today, Friday, February 7th. SunSquabi Live 2019 provides a hand-selected array of recordings from the band’s live performances in 2019, ranging from large festival gigs to club-venue recordings. These recordings were carefully curated by the trio’s members to mimic that mind-bending, mystical experience of a SunSquabi live set.

SunSquabi’s live performances have been described as an ‘Electronic Hydro Funk Experience’. Hence, the cross-genre trio of Kevin Donohue (guitars/keys/production), Josh Fairman (bassist/synth), and Chris Anderson (drums). SunSquabi Live 2019 delivers a taste of that live experience.

This latest album contains fan favorites Night Moth and Tequila Mockingbird played live for the first time with Big Gigantic frontman Dom Lalli; their collab is a treat for SunSquabi and Big Gigantic fans alike. SunSquabi Live 2019 also showcases some of the band’s unreleased tracks like Hornet and Top Down, which are set to be released later this year.

SunSquabi Live 2019 offers something entirely different from the band’s 2018 release, SunSquabi Live at Red Rocks, and the 2017 release, SunSquabi Live in Boulder. While these albums were recordings from a single set, SunSquabi Live 2019 is intentionally curated and far more encompassing of the group’s range. Essentially, this album can be considered the paramount SunSquabi live experience.

As this album is comprised entirely of cherry-picked live recordings, it truly showcases SunSquabi’s versatility as a group. Live performances oftentimes capture what the studio cannot, precisely what SunSquabi Live 2019 has to offer.

BIG Something is launching their 6th studio album ‘Escape’ which comes out on all major platforms this Friday October 9th and is now available to order at www.bigsomething.com.

Produced by John Custer and Big Something at Ovation Sound, ‘Escape’ showcases the evolution of the band’s signature sound and their diverse range of songs. “We made a conscious choice with this album to get back to our roots musically. We wanted something that hit really hard but was danceable and upbeat,” explains drummer Ben Vinograd. “I think it’s a great portrait of where we came from and what we’ve grown into musically over the last 10 years.”

Guitarist and front man Nick MacDaniels adds, “I think making this album was a pretty powerful experience for us. It was the first time we tried to write songs again after our lyricist Paul passed away and also the first time we’d ever gone into a recording session without anything prepared. It was a nice breath of fresh air to work on something from scratch together in the studio with our producer John and it was also really special to record the last song that Paul and I ever wrote together ‘Machines.’”

“The songs themselves are all centered around the theme of escape,” MacDaniels continues. “What it means to ‘escape’ can be interpreted in a lot of different ways: sometimes positive; you're escaping from things that are holding you down or holding you back. Sometimes negative; escaping from reality in a way that's not healthy. I was thinking about that concept before we started recording last Summer. And that was long before quarantine and the pandemic hit. Back then I would have never imagined the world would look like this just a year later, but it’s also now a strangely fitting time for us to release this album.”

To celebrate the release of the new record, Big Something will premiere a video album listening party on Thursday October 8th followed by a FREE multi-cam virtual concert on Friday October 9th that will air across multiple platforms including NUGS TV, Live for Live Music, YouTube and more. Today, the Kitchen Dwellers & Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country announced they will join forces for a 3-night run in Denver, CO on November 14-16, 2024. The pairing will begin the weekend with two intimate evenings on Thursday and Friday at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom before Saturday’s finale at The Mission Ballroom that will also feature an opening set by locals, The Fretliners.

Denver is in for a treat as each of these groups bring their own unique twist to their respective genres. Both Kitchen Dwellers and Daniel Donato are self described with otherworldly themes to their sounds. Dwellers’ original “Galaxy Grass” combines a feeling of celestial space in harmony with classic bluegrass while Donato’s “Cosmic Country” brings a new take on American music heritage. These dates come highly anticipated with Kitchen Dwellers’ most recent play in the market featuring a pair of sold out shows at The Ogden Theatre, and Daniel Donato’s two sold out nights at Cervantes followed by an appearance at Red Rocks Amphitheater supporting Umphrey's McGee earlier this summer. This will be each act’s largest headline appearance in Colorado to date.

A presale signup period is open now before tomorrow’s artist presale at 10:00AM MT. All tickets will be on sale to the public this Friday, July 12 at 10:00AM MT. Tickets for 11/14-15 at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom will only be available as part of a three-night package.

All tour information and up to date news can be found at kitchendwellers.com and danieldonato.com.

About Kitchen Dwellers:

Kitchen Dwellers twist bluegrass, folk, and rock through a kaleidoscope of homegrown stories, rich mythology, American west wanderlust, and psychedelic hues. The Montana quartet—Shawn Swain [Mandolin], Torrin Daniels [banjo], Joe Funk [upright bass], and Max Davies [acoustic guitar]—have captivated audiences at hallowed venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and recently performed alongside acts such as Billy Strings and Goose in addition to playing festivals such as Telluride Bluegrass, Under The Big Sky, WinterWonderGrass, and more. They’ve released three critically acclaimed albums—Ghost In The Bottle [2017], Muir Maid [2019], and Wise River [2022]. After amassing 15 million-plus streams, selling out shows, and receiving acclaim from Huffington Post, Relix, American Songwriter, and more.

About Daniel Donato:

There are a lot of musical influences and sources that Daniel Donato has drawn on during his career and that inform his latest album, Reflector (Retrace Music), his first all-original album. But within those, Donato has carved out a unique and individualized spot for himself, one that speaks to the deep American music heritage that inspires him -- and that he's pushing towards the future with inspired, intentional vigor. He calls it Cosmic Country, a moniker that's both self-descriptive and a statement of purpose. It's an organic rock band aesthetic with plenty of roadhouse twang; a showcase for Donato's instrumental virtuosity and facility for melodically infectious songcraft. Bridging Nashville and the Great West, Kentucky and mid-60s northern California, tie-dye and plaid, it's a world of his own, and a wide world of musical adventure at that. The whole package of player, singer, writer and band leader was in place. Two albums in, Daniel Donato and Cosmic Country, featuring Nathan Aronowitz (keyboards/guitars/vocals), Will McGee (bass/vocals) and Will Clark (drums, percussion/vocals) are selling out venues throughout the country and bringing their brand of Cosmic Country to an ever growing, passionate fanbase.

Leftover Salmon and Kitchen Dwellers have announced a stellar lineup of special guests for the highly anticipated “Memorial Day Pick-Nic” at Colorado’s historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on May 26, 2025. This special performance will commemorate the 35th anniversary of Leftover Salmon, the pioneering “polyethnic Cajun slamgrass” band from Colorado. About Leftover Salmon:
Few bands stick around for thirty years. Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special, once-in-a-lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon.

Since their earliest days as a forward-thinking, progressive bluegrass band who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever-evolving sound; to their role as a pioneer of the modern jamband scene; to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play, Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while at the same time pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly unique style.

Leftover Salmon is continuing their long, storied history, which found them first emerging from the progressive bluegrass world and coming of age as one of the original jam bands, before rising to become architects of what has become known as Jamgrass and helping to create a landscape where bands schooled in the traditional rules of bluegrass can break free of those bonds through nontraditional instrumentation and an innate ability to push songs in new psychedelic directions live.

Leftover Salmon is a band who, for more than thirty-five years, has never stood still; they are constantly changing, evolving, and inspiring. If someone wanted to understand what Americana music is, they could do no better than to go to a Leftover Salmon show, where they effortlessly glide from a bluegrass number born on the front porch, to the down-and-dirty Cajun swamps with a stop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, to the hallowed halls of the Ryman in Nashville, before firing one up in the mountains of Colorado.

Kitchen Dwellers and 4:08 Productions have re-released the band’s performance from season three of The Montana Sessions, originally premiered in 2023. The Bozeman-based pickers performed “Bottom Shelf” in a lush green field nestled in the heart of Paradise Valley.

The Montana Sessions is an Emmy-winning live music series that showcases some of Montana’s finest musicians set against the state’s most breathtaking landscapes. Founded to capture music that reflects Montana’s values, history, and culture, the series highlights a wide spectrum of genres and artists—from the western mountains to the eastern plains.

In celebration of the show’s recent Emmy win, continued nominations, and the upcoming fifth season, 4:08 Productions has launched dedicated social media platforms for The Montana Sessions. These channels will feature the full library of live performances, along with new stories and personal reflections from the artists.

About Kitchen Dwellers

Kitchen Dwellers twist bluegrass, folk, and rock through a kaleidoscope of home-grown stories, rich mythology, American-West wanderlust, and psychedelic hues. The Montana quartet—Shawn Swain (mandolin), Torrin Daniels (banjo), Joe Funk (upright bass), and Max Davies (acoustic guitar)—has captivated audiences at hallowed venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and recently performed alongside acts such as Billy Strings and Goose, in addition to playing festivals like Telluride Bluegrass, Under the Big Sky, WinterWonderGrass, and more. They’ve released four critically acclaimed albums—Ghost in the Bottle (2017), Muir Maid (2019), Wise River (2022), and Seven Devils (2024)—amassing 15-plus million streams, selling out shows, and earning praise from Huffington Post, Relix, American Songwriter, and more.
