Kyle Hollingsworth releases a series of new tracks available for free, starting today. Hollingsworth on his new Summer Sounds from the Lab, including the initial track "Tumbling:"

"Hey everyone, I'm loving our new SCI Lab, lots of creativity percolating from here. SCI will be bringing more tunes soon, but in the meantime I wanted to release some new KHB tunes that originated from the lab. I snuck in and produced a few new sounds for summer.

"Tumbling" started out as a groove that was in need of becoming a song. It was one of those feels that I had done in the past, but with a more indie vibe to it. Lyrically it speaks of my first love and first loss all around a trip to the see The Grateful Dead in Pittsburgh. Sometimes I struggle to form a cohesive theme and groove, but this came together fairly easily and quickly. I like where this ended up, I hope you enjoy!"

Kyle Hollingsworth releases his second track from a series of new tracks available for free, beginning July 11.

Hollingsworth on "Let Me In," his latest track as part of the series Summer Sounds from the Lab:

""Let Me In" is a guitar-driven funk tune that has some cool peaks and valleys. I'm looking forward to stretching this one live. The track also features a new singer I'm working with Tanya Shylock. She brings the right amount of soul and passion to the track."

After 20 years in Boulder, CO, and many years prior in Baltimore, MD, keyboardist of The String Cheese Incident, Kyle Hollingsworth, along with the Hollingsworth family, has relocated to the beaches of Mexico to allow for pursuit of new musical and brewing passions. SCI’s recent tour featuring throwback acoustic sets saw Hollingsworth return to his accordion, igniting his lifelong drive to perform live mariachi.

And with that, Hollingsworth joins the fiercest, most notorious band in Mexican music lore, The Bad Hombres. It’s clear Hollingsworth is hot on his new direction and ready to take on the world with his unusually intense approach. “It’s going to be tremendous, just bigly huge. The Bad Hombres are terrific, terrific people and we’re going to make mariachi great again. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it,” the accordionist explains as he unpacks snorkels and neon floaties in his new Mexican residence.

When Hollingsworth is not on the road or enjoying time with his family, he plans to spend more time perfecting his Mexican lager recipe and exploring the recent findings of Mexican hops. “I’ve found some great new beers down here and even spent a few days behind the bar at the cabana,” he chuckles. “Although, I’m not sure how to card people [for legal drinking age] here.”

It’s no secret that Hombre Tour is relentless, leaving no time for haste, as Hollingsworth hits the road immediately this summer.

Denver based power trio, Cycles, have embarked on a substantial fall tour for 2017! The action kicked off in Colorado with two Phish Dick’s after parties followed by the Canyon Jam festival at the legendary Mishawaka Amphitheatre. Heading north out of Colorado, the trio completed a run of shows in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho – supporting Kyle Hollingsworth (The String Cheese Incident). After a weekend in New Mexico, tour brings them out to the Northeast for their first time! Teaming up with regional act, Formula 5, the duo will see stops in New York City, Burlington, Bridgeport and more before returning to Colorado with shows in Boulder, Steamboat Springs plus an additional date in Taos, NM. Next, the band comes home to Denver to play with longtime friends, The Magic Beans, for what surely promises to be a rowdy night at The Bluebird Theater, followed by a co- headlining show at The Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins with locals, Moves At Midnight.

Shortly after this homecoming, the road leads South for shows in Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina, including two dates with old partners in crime, The Jauntee. The following weekend promises exciting things for the trio with two new states, Virginia and Pennsylvania, with stops in Roanoke, Richmond, Reading, and a slot supporting Aqueous in Pittsburgh at The Rex Theatre. The band continues to break new ground the next week with their first-ever visit to Wisconsin at The Frequency in Madison plus a visit to Minneapolis. That weekend, Cycles returns to Chicago for the first time since their sold out show at the Tonic Room in July and then closes the weekend out in Indianapolis at The Mousetrap. Finally, the massive 5-week tour concludes in Ohio and Kentucky with a “Weird Wednesday” at The Woodlands Tavern in Columbus, a stop at the Cycles staple, Time & Space, in Louisville, and then three nights with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong! Beginning with two nights in The Tavern at The Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland performing official Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Pre & Post Parties (PPPPPPP), tour ends at The Madison Theatre in Covington, KY, where the band kicks things off on the big stage for a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration!

Drawing influence from artists such as Rage Against the Machine, J. Dilla, Primus, Weather Report, and many, many more, Cycles fuses an eclectic blend of genres to produce a truly unique and cohesive sound. Although only two years old, Cycles have over 200 shows under their belt with tours extending across the entire U.S. Fresh off of a lengthy summer tour in support of their first full-length album, Vacation, the band is dialed and at the top of their game.

The latest release from The Lab is here! A Kyle Hollingsworth led tune called “The Big Reveal”, available now on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and more! fanlink.to/TheBigRevealSCI

Kyle shares insight on the new track... "This was inspired by my early experiences at Grateful Dead shows. Keith and I co-wrote the lyrics together. It speaks of being young and finding how music can transform and expand your consciousness, allowing you to find your place in a bigger community. For me, some of those early Dead shows were my 'ah ha' moment. And to some degree lead me to become a musician. Musically, it's based on a funky jam that we had improvised at Merriweather Post Pavilion in 2016 called 'Crab Chips Jam.' It’s fun to occasionally dive back into the SCI archives and find some unique gems to build songs around!" - Kyle Hollingsworth
