"While I was waiting to see if / when my jaw was ever going to heal, it felt like there was either way too much time to reflect, while there was not nearly enough time to do the things I wanted to do with my music, so I began to really sink into other people's stories and their favourite playlists. Something that really had a huge impact was a playlist that Josue Foto made me, and a song that absolutely shined that I kept coming back to was Hasta la Raiz by Natalia Lafourcade. A haunting melody sung by a voice with so much power and expressiveness. Of course, Natalia is huge, but to me it was brand new. I listened to it non-stop.

Flash forward a bit, and we’re down at sonic ranch with Jeff Bhasker, making the rounds, and hanging with Adanowsky. And he's introducing us to everybody. So many people coming in and out of the room, as we're working in studio A, and then he introduces me to Natalia. As the night goes on, we start pulling up tracks; who's working on what, who's collaborating with who, and then I hear Hasta la Raiz, and I put it together. Oh my god, you're Natalia Lafourcade! This song changed my life!

We asked, we begged to get Natalia on a track, and when it all came together, it was magic. She has a once in a generation voice, and every time i hear it, it still reminds me of how important it is to listen to your friends favourite music, and to surround yourself with people who have great taste, especially if they're sharing stuff you've never heard. It just might change your life."

Listen to 'Cold Wind Blowing' HERE

'Cold Wind Blowing' delivers an intimate stripped-back acoustic record, which can be heard throughout the forthcoming 'Major Companion', an acoustic EP peppered with stirring strings and sensitive lyricism. Strings were arranged by celebrated Manchester composer Joe Duddell (New Order/The Charlatan's/Elbow) and recorded with a live orchestra at the Kinks legendary north London studio 'Konk' with mastering provided by Pete Maher (U2/Noel Gallagher/Damien Rice).

Schamroth said about the track "I wrote the song about a friend of mine who was struggling and in a bad place. Despite the melancholic sound there is an underlying positive message which hopefully resonates with others going through tough times."

Devon-born, British singer-songwriter Daniel Schamroth writes stripped-back, soulful indie anthems. His music sits somewhere between the worlds of Noel Gallagher, Ryan Adams, and Neil Young. Wearing these influences proudly on his sleeve, whilst still retaining his unique, emotionally charged sound. Daniel is also lead singer of The Loft Club.

His provenance as frontman and songwriter for Indie band The Loft Club, lead to a debut album which achieved wide critical acclaim and was signed and released by LA label Lightyear/Virgin Music.

Schamroth's track 'Way Into The Sun' was chosen by Formula One racing team Oracle Red Bull Racing, for the soundtrack to the Austrian Grand Prix 2022. As frontman of Indie band The Loft Club, Schamroth has supported Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and The Charlatans as well as featured in the Australian film Goldstone with the track 'I'm Just A Man'. The artist also collaborated with US singer Lisa Loeb on a single titled 'Flicker' which reached the US Billboard Adult Alternative Airplay Chart, and featured rapper Pras of the Fugees on a remixed version.

In 2022, he released an EP titled 'Friends & Brothers', which was recorded with James Bragg (Sports Team) at Propagation House, and Danny Hembrow. Schamroth's music has now been streamed over 1.5 million times on Spotify alone.
Daniel Schamroth's new EP is set for release on February 16th, 2024.
