Notable artists and mental health advocates will band together in a free virtual broadcast on Thursday, March 25 at 8 p.m. ET to shine a light on the music industry’s mental health crisis. The “Lost Tapes Live” broadcast, produced by Lemmon Entertainment and recorded at Toronto-based studio The HUB, will be hosted by Canadian music journalist Alan Cross and will feature renowned guitarist Dan Kanter (Justin Bieber, Julia Michaels, Ariana Grande), JUNO-nominated pop-rock artist Fefe Dobson, country star Madeline Merlo and more, providing an in-depth look at the complex relationship between talent, fame and tragedy through interviews with music industry professionals and mental health experts, testimonials and live performances. The event will be free to view but registration is required. For the full lineup, more information and to register, visit www.losttapeslive.com.

The virtual broadcast is part of a campaign launched in February by Over The Bridge, a Canadian nonprofit that aims to change the conversation about mental health in the music community. The Lost Tapes of the 27 Club campaign used artificial intelligence to create an album of new music that the 27 Club (a list of musicians who died at just 27 years old) “never got the chance to create,” including Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix.

“Musicians are disproportionately affected by mental health struggles as seen by the suicide rates amongst musicians being twice that of the general population,” said Ace Piva, addiction recovery coach and executive director of Over The Bridge. “And with COVID shutting down venues and risking the very livelihoods of so many in our community, the situation is worse than it’s ever been.”

“To say that the music industry members have been struggling with mental health would be an understatement,” says Kanter. “This year has been especially challenging for those working in the music and entertainment industry, meaning conversations about this are needed more than ever. I’m thrilled to support such a unique campaign and an organization that’s trying to change the way musicians look at mental wellness.”

Along with performances of Lost Tapes of the 27 Club music, viewers of the March 25 “Lost Tapes Live” event can expect to hear original music, learn about the unique challenges of maintaining mental wellness in the music industry, and also have a chance to win one of two prize packs which include tickets to live events and a guitar from Michael Wekerle’s (Dragons’ Den) personal art collection.

Join the conversation on social media and follow along with #losttapeslive and #losttapesofthe27club, and interact live during the event on Instagram at @lemmonent.

Farm Aid’s annual music and food festival is returning to Noblesville, Indiana, on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Ruoff Music Center. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Saturday, July 15, at 10 a.m. ET, at LiveNation.com.

Farm Aid 2023 — a full day of music, family farmers, HOMEGROWN food and agrarian experiences — will feature performances by Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews (with Tim Reynolds), and Margo Price, as well as Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Lukas Nelson, Allison Russell, The String Cheese Incident, and Particle Kid. The festival will highlight the work of family farmers to address climate change through regenerative, organic and sustainable farming practices. Farm Aid will showcase these innovative climate champions on the Farm Aid stage and throughout the event. As farmers and farm and food advocates converge from across the country for the annual festival, Farm Aid will host additional pre-festival events to spotlight their work.

This is the third Farm Aid concert that has taken place in Indiana, and the second in Noblesville. Farm Aid IV took place at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis in 1990, and Farm Aid 2001: A Concert for America was held in Noblesville just weeks after the terrorist attacks of 2001.

“Family farmers have the solutions to some of our toughest challenges,” said Farm Aid President and Founder Willie Nelson. “As we face a changing climate, farmers in Indiana, across the Midwest and all over the country are farming in ways that create more resilient farms to build healthy soils and protect our water.”

Across the state, climate change has already had a considerable impact. In the coming years, climate change will shift the state to two extremes: hotter, drier summers and wetter winters and springs, creating more urgency for on-farm production practices that care for the soil and water. Indiana has the most polluted rivers and streams of any state, and almost all of Indiana's lakes and reservoirs sampled in a recent study are unfit for drinking water. One of the main culprits is manure run-off from large-scale concentrated animal feeding operations. Many family farmers in Indiana are national leaders in implementing farming practices to mitigate climate change, including cover cropping, rotating crops, reducing soil tillage, integrating livestock and crop production, raising pastured livestock, and improving soil and water management.

“We are honored and excited to bring the Farm Aid experience back to Indiana. My home state holds deep meaning for me and for the generations of family farmers who have dedicated their lives to caring for the Earth and bringing us good food,” said Farm Aid Co-Founder John Mellencamp.

Indiana is the eighth largest farming state in the nation, generating $31.2 billion annually. Every 10 jobs directly related to Indiana agriculture support an additional eight jobs in the state. Home to 56,649 farms with an average farm size of 264 acres, there are more than 94,000 farmers in Indiana. More than 80% of land in Indiana is devoted to farms, forests and woodland. While its top crops are corn and soybeans, Hoosier farmers grow more than 30 major fruits and vegetables each year, including melons, pumpkins and mint.

Farm Aid festival attendees experience a full day of music and the taste of local flavors with Farm Aid’s HOMEGROWN Concessions®, which offer a diverse, fresh menu with ingredients that are produced by family farmers using ecological practices with a fair price paid to the farmers. Farm Aid’s HOMEGROWN Village features hands-on activities engaging festivalgoers with exhibits about soil, water, energy, food and farming. Festivalgoers can hear farmers and artists inform and inspire on the FarmYard Stage and celebrate the know- how and diversity of cultures of agriculture in the HOMEGROWN Skills tent.

Ticket prices range from $75 to $315 and will be available for purchase at LiveNation.com. A limited number of pre-sale tickets will be available beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 12, at www.farmaid.org/tickets.

For event updates, follow Farm Aid on Twitter (@FarmAid), Facebook (facebook.com/farmaid) and Instagram (instagram.com/farmaid), and visit farmaid.org/festival. Festivalgoers are encouraged to use the hashtags #FarmAid2023 and #Road2FarmAid to join the conversation on social media around this year’s festival.

Farm Aid welcomes the participation of the business community and offers corporate sponsorship and VIP hospitality opportunities. For more information, contact Glenda Yoder at [email protected]. Farm Aid 2023 sponsors include Patagonia Workwear.

Farm Aid’s mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews and Margo Price host an annual festival to raise funds to support Farm Aid’s work with family farmers and to inspire people to choose family farm food. For more than 35 years, Farm Aid, with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has raised more than $70 million to support programs that help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture and promote food from family farms.

With the vision of evolving the festival experience in St. Louis, live music producers Contemporary Presentations and The Just Listen Company introduced the first-ever EVOLUTION FESTIVAL this weekend at Forest Park with over 25,000 fans in attendance.  The festival was met with rave reviews from attendees and artists alike and was inspired by the love for the organizers’ hometown and the belief that festivals are a catalyst for building a stronger community.

Both Steve Schankman and partner and longtime festival producer, Joe Litvag, collaborated on EVOLUTION FESTIVAL to develop a modern festival concept that celebrates the soul of the city in a forward-thinking way.

“The most important goal in our first year was to build a sense of community that our entire city and state could rally around,” commented Co-Executive Producer Steve Schankman.  “I know we accomplished that, but we’ve only just begun.  There will be even more to look forward to when EVOLUTION FESTIVAL returns in 2024!”

This year’s line-up included more than 18 national and local performers that took the stage in beautiful Forest Park.  With the tagline of ‘This is our town. This is our time. This is our EVOLUTION,’ fans enjoyed unforgettable performances by many artists including Brandi Carlile, The Black Keys, Ice Cube, and Sugarhill Gang.

“Building an event like this took years of planning and a tremendous amount of effort by an army of dedicated people, and we are grateful for every single one of them,” commented Co-Executive Producer Joe Litvag.  “We all had one vision in mind, which was to create an atmosphere that had a great vibe to make people feel welcome and part of a family.  Walking around the site both days and talking to fans, the positivity was really palpable.”

With the help of so many organizations like the State of Missouri, the City of St. Louis, Forest Park Forever,  and Explore St. Louis combined with the support of countless brand partners and institutional organizations, EVOLUTION FESTIVAL immediately established itself as something the entire State of Missouri can be proud of, just as it set out to do.

A portion of all EVOLUTION FESTIVAL ticket proceeds will be donated to Forest Park Forever, a non-profit conservancy that works to restore, maintain, and sustain Forest Park as one of America’s great urban public parks. In addition, the EVOLUTION FESTIVAL also worked closely with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through its Music Gives campaign to raise money and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

This is our town. This is our time.  This is our EVOLUTION!
