Grassfed is a quick pickin’ five-piece string band. Pivoting on the foundation of bluegrass, Grassfed entwines tradition with an eclectic array of influences. Forged by songwriters and driven by instrumental conversation, the band brings a punching sound all its own. Grassfed's debut 18-track album is available online April 1, 2017.

Horizons are on the rise for up and coming band, Grassfed. Recently Releasing their debut album, the band in poised with opportunity including, top bluegrass festivals, band competitions, and an extensive summer tour.

The five piece bluegrass group is set to perform at Bluegrass in the Bottoms Music Festival, hosted at Knuckleheads Saloon this weekend. The two day event is new to the east bottoms, and is setting pace to be one of the biggest bluegrass festivals to come to Kansas City.

Featuring top national touring jam grass acts including: Greensky Bluegrass, Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band, Infamous String Dusters, and many more. Grassfed will be performing a late night set Saturday, May 20th.

Grassfed will continue on to be featured at Westport Roots Festival Memorial Day Weekend. The festival will include over seventy-five  touring outlaw country, and american roots acts-- spanning over three days.

After saying goodbye to Kansas City in grand fashion, Grassfed will set off on an extensive summer tour. Starting off competing against top midwest bluegrass groups in the John Hartford Memorial Festival band competition.  

The band will be touring throughout the east coast for the rest of June, before taking off overseas to play the HighLand Games in Glasgow, Scotland in July. Grassfed will be returning to the United States to resume touring, after performing in France.

Kansas City based string band Grassfed, is set to release their new album Moovin’ Down The Road on digital streaming platforms and for purchase May 10th, and tour relentlessly throughout the country during the 2018 festival season. Building fast momentum for 2018, the up and coming band has already performed at festivals or venues in 10 states so far this year. Grassfed will next embark on a massive summer tour throughout the country, after a grand farewell to Kansas City at Bluegrass in the Bottoms & Westport Roots Festival this May.  The band will begin their  summer tour trekking throughout the midwest to festivals including: John Hartford Memorial Festival in Bean Blossom, Indiana, and Bevington Bluegrass Festival in Bevington, Iowa. Grassfed will then travel east to New England to perform throughout New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maine. Capping off their June schedule, performing at the Vintage Bazzarre Festival in Portland, Maine.

Starting in July, the Band will venture back West-- stopping in Kansas City for an album release show at Californos Saturday, July 7th-- on their way to perform a slew of shows at frequented stops throughout Colorado. Grassfed will return to KC in late July, to perform at Oscarusa (memorial festival for friend Oscar Jiminez, who was killed by a drunk driver in 2016), and Lovegrass Festival (central Kansas). The band will recommence tour-- performing at WHY Grass Festival in Eua Claire, WI, before venture south to perform at Muddy Roots Music Festival in Tennessee over Labor Day weekend. Continuing on-- they will tour in South Carolina, amongst other southern States, leading up to a strong finish to the festival season at Hillberry Music Festival-- in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Persistently adding more dates & festivals in 2018, the band continues to build up their busiest year yet, as they release their new album Moovin’ Down the Road.

Since the release of their debut album in 2017, Grassfed has toured constantly, becoming one of the most prominent up and coming bluegrass/Americana bands in the region. With career highlights including: Bluegrass in the Bottoms, opening for top touring acts Leftover Salmon (plus Shook Twins) and Railroad Earth, performing at Split Lip Rayfield NYE bash, the  2017 John Hartford Memorial Band Competition, and performing abroad in Scotland and France.  Already bostering an impressive resume & road schedule this Fast on the rise group shows no signs of slowing down. Now in the midst of their busiest year yet in 2018-- set to perform at at some of the largest bluegrass/americana festivals in the festival circuit (Hillberry, Hartford, BGITB), and establishing an ever-growing presence throughout the country.  Keep an eye on this fast moving band, as they release their new album, and continue their ascent in the vast world of music.
