Blues-rock trailblazer Joe Bonamassa is back with a brand-new single, “Still Walking With Me,” out today via J&R Adventures. Following the introspective groove of “Shake This Ground,” this latest release leans into a feel-good, classic vibe—buoyant and soulful, with a warm groove and an undeniable sense of gratitude.

Anchored by a warm groove and a classic feel, “Still Walking With Me” is an uplifting tribute to resilience, redemption, and the people who stick with us even when we don’t deserve it. Bonamassa’s lyrics walk the line between gratitude and humility—“You could’ve left a long time ago… I wouldn’t blame ya”—while celebrating the kind of enduring partnership that weathers all storms. With its catchy refrain and unshakeable optimism, the song delivers a feel-good message wrapped in rich instrumentation and vintage tones.

Produced by longtime collaborator Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Journey) and co-written with Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy,  ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd), “Still Walking With Me” is the second preview from Bonamassa’s upcoming studio album, due out later this year. The new music expands his ever-evolving sound while remaining grounded in the blues-rock foundation that has made him one of the genre’s most dynamic forces.

The single arrives on the heels of a monumental season for Bonamassa. Just this week, he wrapped the 10th Anniversary Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea X Cruise, the sold-out floating blues festival that set sail from Miami with performances from Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Larkin Poe, Kingfish, Samantha Fish, Joanne Shaw Taylor, and many more. The milestone event continued Bonamassa’s commitment to building community and keeping the blues alive for future generations.

Next up, Bonamassa heads overseas for an extensive European Spring Tour, followed by a June run with his powerhouse supergroup Black Country Communion (featuring Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham, and Derek Sherinian). After another round of summer dates across Europe—including sold-out shows in Ireland—he’ll return stateside for his just-announced 2025 U.S. Summer Tour, a limited amphitheater run featuring stops at Greek Theatre, Red Rocks, and more iconic venues.

With over 50 albums, 28 #1 Billboard Blues Albums, and a relentless drive to evolve, Bonamassa shows no signs of slowing down. Whether on stage, in the studio, or at sea, he continues to find new ways to push the blues forward while honoring its legacy.

Southern California rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck have officially announced the release of their ninth studio album, Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes, due out August 22nd via Journeyman Records. Produced by the legendary Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Rival Sons), the new album finds the band firing on all cylinders—raw, reflective, and tighter than ever.

“It was an incredible honor to collaborate with Dave Cobb on our new record,” shares frontman Robert Jon Burrison. “Not only has he worked with artists we deeply admire, but he’s also been a producer we’ve respected for over a decade. Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes feels like a true reflection of who Robert Jon & The Wreck is as a band. From the moment we arrived in Savannah, GA, to record, we felt an immediate sense of comfort and ease—something rare in a typical studio environment. Being away from our usual routines, living together, and immersing ourselves in the new songs from start to finish created an album we are incredibly proud of. We can’t wait to share it with the world and bring it to life on stage.”

Alongside the announcement, the band has shared their latest single, “Highway” a soaring, mid-tempo rocker that showcases everything fans have come to love about The Wreck: blistering twin guitar harmonies, emotionally charged vocals, and a driving rhythm section. Produced by Cobb and recorded in Savannah, “Highway” blends the band’s classic heartland sound with fresh, cinematic urgency.

“‘Highway’ is a favorite of ours on Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes—a song that started as a loose melodic concept on an acoustic guitar in Henry’s apartment, and evolved into a full-blown powerhouse,” adds Robert. “When we brought it into rehearsals in Costa Mesa, it just clicked with the band. Dave Cobb helped us elevate the track by pushing the tempo and building out the dynamics. Lyrically, it’s a heartfelt love song—wide open, full throttle, and impossible to get out of your head.”

“It never strayed far from the original vision Robert and I had,” notes guitarist Henry James. “Cobb brought a new level of spontaneity and emotional edge to the sessions. This track hits hard and still gives you the feels—it’s everything we love about rock ’n’ roll.”

According to bassist Warren Murrel, the Savannah sessions represented a major turning point for the band: “For the first time in our band’s history, we had the opportunity to live at the studio while recording. Instead of dealing with LA traffic and squeezing in sessions between other commitments, we got to immerse ourselves fully in the music—writing, recording, and refining songs every day for over a week. It was an experience that allowed us to be completely present in the creative process. Dave Cobb has a way of getting under the hood of a song, pushing it further than we ever thought possible. His guidance challenged us in the best ways and helped bring this album to life in a way we’re truly proud of."

Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes captures the band at a creative peak, drawing from real-life experiences of love, loss, and redemption. Across ten riveting tracks, Robert Jon & The Wreck explore the full emotional spectrum, delivered with thunderous riffs, razor-sharp grooves, and some of their most compelling lyrics to date. The album was mixed by Greg Gordon, known for his work with Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, and Rival Sons. It will be available on CD, limited edition colored vinyl, and in special merch bundles, including an exclusive shirt and bandana package.

“This album is a candid musical reflection of who we are today,” adds Henry. “Tales of love gone awry, love gone right, camaraderie, estrangement, lessons learned, dark shadows, and bright lights—all wrapped into one.”

“Highway” follows the release of several acclaimed tracks from the upcoming album, including the fiery, John Oates co-written “Long Gone,” the introspective ballad “Ashes in the Snow,” and the high-octane “Sittin’ Pretty.” Each single has spotlighted a different facet of the band’s evolving sound, building anticipation for what promises to be their most ambitious album yet.

The band is currently on the road for a packed 2025 tour that includes headline dates across Europe and North America, plus appearances at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Askena Rock Festival, Hookrock, and Chinook Fest. With stops in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and major U.S. cities from New York to Fargo, fans worldwide will get to experience the new songs live for the first time. Vermont-based singer-songwriter Reid Parsons (they/she) shares their powerful new single “Get Out Of Bed,” the second release from their forthcoming debut album Back to Back, out April 25th. Featured by The Big Takeover, who called Parsons “one of Vermont’s most compelling musical voices,” the track is a soul-stirring exploration of resilience, inertia, and the quiet heroism of simply beginning the day.

“There’s a moment in ‘Get Out Of Bed’ where a gentle haze lifts, and something defiant stirs beneath the melancholy,” wrote The Big Takeover in their premiere. “It’s the sound of reckoning with inertia—not just the physical act of rising in the morning, but the psychological weight of trying to meet the day when the world feels too heavy.”

Written during a time of deep self-reflection, the song captures the essence of emotional reckoning with a tender yet commanding vocal performance. “This is a song that I wrote as a tool to dig myself out of the thick blanket of melancholia and self-pity that sometimes holds me down,” says Parsons. “I hope listeners interpret it however they want—that’s the beauty of music—but I wrote it as a kind of kick-in-the-pants anthem to step out of my comfort zone and face the day.”

As The Big Takeover described it, the arrangement of “Get Out of Bed” “builds patiently, matching the lyrical arc: from fog to focus, from stillness to motion.” Parsons’ voice—warm, unpretentious, and edged with bluesy grit—guides the listener through that emotional shift, anchored by a Hammond B3 organ that, as she recalls, “shook the whole room.”

“Get Out of Bed” sits as the second track on Back to Back, an album Parsons produced, arranged, and wrote entirely (save for a haunting cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire”). Engineered by Ben Collette (Trey Anastasio, Susan Tedeschi, Sharon Jones) and tracked live-to-tape at Burlington’s iconic Tank Recording Studio, Back to Back is a meticulously crafted orchestral Americana record designed with the intentionality of a handmade space. As Parsons puts it, “Music has always been where I can build a world to embrace all parts of myself.”

From the everyday intimacy of the title track “Back to Back”—a bossa nova-tinged meditation on the quiet rhythms of partnership—to the genre-spanning arrangements, Back to Back is both deeply personal and architecturally intricate. The record weaves together elements of folk, jazz, blues, classical, soul, and country into a cohesive sonic patchwork that feels at once timeless and entirely unique. “I strive to write from a place of simplicity,” Parsons says. “I want to leave space for interpretation, to build a room for others to process, to emote, to have their own experiences in."

Parsons grew up in Moretown, Vermont, a town of 1,500 nestled in the Green Mountains, where they absorbed the emotional range of everything from Lucinda Williams to Patsy Cline and Steely Dan. Classically trained and self-taught in equal measure, Parsons honed her musical voice singing in a 13-piece soul and Motown band while studying music and anthropology, and performing regularly at local haunts like the now-defunct Purple Moon Pub—a launchpad for fellow Vermonter Grace Potter.

Back to Back is a product of passion, persistence, and deep introspection, partially funded through a crowdfunding campaign and completed with income from Parsons’ work in farming and food systems. “These sounds I had in my head are now tucked in this magical little locket that, when I open it up, transport me to a wonderful world,” they say. “Making this record has been the most meaningful thing I’ve done in my life.”

Parsons is currently on a run of select spring tour dates across Vermont, including a hometown album release show at Shelburne Vineyard. Full tour info and tickets can be found at reidparsons.com.

Today, 2ŁØT unleashes a bold new remix of their title track “Entropy,” reimagined by none other than global dance music pioneer Paul Oakenfold. A high-energy reinvention of the band’s emotional centerpiece, the “fffffffx)” expands the reach of their genre-blurring sound into the world of electronic dance music—layering cinematic builds, infectious beats, and euphoric drops around Rudy Love Jr.’s stirring vocals.

The original “Entropy” is the closing chapter and emotional climax of 2ŁØT’s debut album of the same name—a powerful collection of songs that explores loss, rebirth, and what it means to push back against life’s inevitable chaos. Drawing its name from the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, Entropy is both a concept and a call to action: a refusal to let disorder define us.

Released late last year, Entropy established 2ŁØT as one of the most compelling new voices in music. Fusing elements of hip hop, soul, funk, jazz, rock, and electronic music into a sound they call Electronic Jam Music (EJM), the band pairs sonic exploration with a deeper purpose—channeling personal struggle into art that inspires action.

“This album tells our origin story,” says the band. “Each of us came into 2ŁØT at a personal breaking point—grieving losses, navigating trauma, questioning purpose. Entropy is our answer. It’s about survival, recovery, and using music to create meaning out of the mess.”

Since the release of Entropy, 2ŁØT has taken their message on the road with The Entro Tour, bringing their immersive, high-energy live show to stages across the West. Recent performances have included Lost Lake in Denver, Varley in Salt Lake City, and two standout sets at Idaho’s Treefort Music Fest. With each show, the band continues to build a reputation for fusing powerful visuals—lights, lasers, LED panels—with emotional storytelling and deep improvisation.

Next up, 2ŁØT will take the stage at the 2025 Somewhere Festival & Conference in Wichita, KS (June 13–14), performing alongside Aloe Blacc, Deadmau5, Flying Lotus, and Suki Waterhouse. Known for its boundary-pushing blend of music, technology, and social impact, Somewhere Fest is a gathering of artists and changemakers committed to using creativity as a force for good. 2ŁØT’s performance is set to be one of the weekend’s highlights, bringing their socially charged blend of Electronic Jam Music to a community-driven crowd.

Beyond the stage, the band remains deeply committed to their core causes: addiction recovery, youth empowerment, and criminal justice reform. Their art is a catalyst for connection and a tool for transformation—both personal and societal.

2. Shot in the Dark
3. Grief

Andy Frasco & The U.N. return with “Life is Easy,” a blisteringly clever, tongue-in-cheek folk protest anthem that tackles everything from consumerism to climate change with a grin. The single—out today—features bluegrass phenom Billy Strings, cosmic country shredder Daniel Donato, Mike Gordon (Phish) and longtime Frasco collaborator Steve Poltz (Jewel, Rugburns), all joining forces on a rollicking, subversive singalong that threads the line between satire and sincerity.

“Andy Frasco is a mids-smokin’ Mitzvah for everyone who has ears to hear,” says Donato. “He has the comedic audacity of Andrew Dice Clay, the minimalist profundity of Shel Silverstein, wrapped in a warm-hearted Mr. Rogers style demeanor tinged with psychedelic illumination.”

Built on foot-stomping acoustic rhythms, tight harmonies, and Frasco’s signature blend of humor and humanity, “Life Is Easy” skewers the absurdity of modern life with lines like “They’re selling us the blood / While they’re all bleeding us” and “Depression on demand—and now it’s storable.” But beneath the satire lies a call to simplicity and presence.

“This is a song about turning off the news for a little bit and just enjoying life and stop fearing what we can’t control,” says Frasco. “There’s so much craziness going on in the world—sometimes all we really need to do is go outside and listen to the birds sing.”

“Being involved in this project was a dream come true,” adds Steve Poltz. “Always a good time being in the Frasco orbit. He’s up for anything and that’s why he’s so much fun to be around.”

The release of “Life is Easy” follows a trio of standout singles from Growing Pains, each offering a different facet of Frasco’s evolving artistry. First came the irreverent, glass-half-full anthem “Try Not to Die,” co-written with Chris Gelbuda and built on a groove-heavy blend of humor and heart. Then came “Crazy Things,” a surrealist take on love’s absurdity co-penned with Poltz. Most recently, Frasco dropped “Swinging for the Fences”—a Motown-inspired love song for underdogs, featuring G. Love and Eric Krasno.

Together, these tracks lay the groundwork for Growing Pains, Frasco’s 10th studio album—out May 23rd—which captures an artist in transition: wiser, more introspective, but still fueled by the same reckless joy that built his cult following. Self-produced for the first time, the album is equal parts soul-searching and celebratory, blending sharp songwriting with genre-hopping arrangements that reflect the messy, beautiful contradictions of modern life.

“I wanted to show people how I’ve grown as a songwriter,” Frasco says. “That I wasn’t just a crowd-surfing party guy in a bar band. This record is about finding balance in both music and life—focusing on the simple pleasures, embracing the grind, and taking nothing for granted because there are no guarantees tomorrow.”

Known for his no-holds-barred live show—a mix of chaos, comedy, catharsis, and crowd-surfing—Frasco continues to build a one-of-a-kind career across platforms. In addition to his music, he’s the host of the World Saving Podcast (with guests like Tony Hawk and Margaret Cho), the creator of a wildly successful variety show, and a champion for mental health awareness.

With Growing Pains on the horizon, Andy Frasco & The U.N. are hitting the road hard in 2025, bringing their euphoric live experience to festivals, clubs, and theaters across the country. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit andyfrasco.com.

Celebrated blues singer and guitarist Larry McCray is set to release his powerful new album Heartbreak City on June 13, 2025, via KTBA Records, the label founded by Joe Bonamassa. To mark the announcement, McCray has dropped the album’s lead single, “Bye Bye Blues,” a soulful, finger-snapping throwback co-written with longtime collaborator Charlie Walmsley that channels the sounds of Johnnie Taylor, Bobby Bland, and Little Milton with a fresh, funky edge.

Produced by Grammy-nominated duo Bonamassa and Josh Smith, Heartbreak City is a bold, unfiltered collection that finds McCray at the height of his powers—fusing raw blues with vintage soul, Southern grit, and a hard-won sense of joy. The ten-track album features standout contributions from Reese Wynans, Kirk Fletcher, and background vocalists Jade Macrae and Dannielle De Andrea, as well as guest guitar work from Bonamassa himself. The record was recorded at the iconic Sunset Sound in Hollywood and mixed by Alan Hertz.

On the title track, McCray taps into the spirit of the club stages that shaped his early career, with gritty vocals and a smoldering guitar solo that reflect his decades of road-tested experience. “I feel like this album captures all the different sides of who I am,” says McCray. “It’s soul, it’s blues, it’s truth. It’s everything I’ve lived.”

Across the album, McCray leans into themes of reflection, resilience, and redemption, drawing from decades of lived experience on and off the stage. His voice—gravelly, weathered, and full of soul—carries the weight of hard-earned wisdom, while his guitar work remains as fiery and fluid as ever. With dynamic arrangements, gospel-tinged harmonies, and a band that matches him punch for punch, Heartbreak City doesn’t just revisit the blues—it reclaims it, reframing it through the lens of someone who’s survived it, played it, and lived it for more than four decades.

The release follows 2022’s Blues Without You, which marked McCray’s long-awaited return after a seven-year hiatus. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Blues chart and was named the #1 Blues Album of 2022 by Blues Rock Review, solidifying his status as a torchbearer of modern blues. In 2024, McCray was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame, a testament to his deep roots in the state and his enduring impact on American music. Now, Heartbreak City builds on that momentum. It’s a record that reflects Larry McCray at his most self-assured—grounded in tradition, but more fearless than ever.

A native of Smackover, Arkansas, McCray grew up immersed in gospel, soul, and the blues stylings of B.B., Albert, and Freddie King. After relocating to Saginaw, Michigan, at age 12, he developed a style that merged deep blues with the fire of Hendrix and the Southern grooves of the Allman Brothers. He was signed in the late ’80s as the first artist on Virgin Records’ Point Blank imprint, and released a string of widely praised albums including Ambition (1990), Delta Hurricane (1993), and Born to Play the Blues (1998). Over the course of his career, McCray has shared stages with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Joe Walsh, the Allman Brothers, Jonny Lang, and of course, his modern-day champion and label head Joe Bonamassa.

“Larry McCray is a legend,” shares Bonamassa. “We have known that for 30 years. He is the last of the great blues shouters from the Rust Belt. In the spirit of BB King, Luther Allison, and Little Milton, Larry is among the greats. It’s now up to the world to rediscover him. He has been here all along.”

With their highly anticipated debut album Back to Back arriving this Friday, April 25th, Vermont-based singer-songwriter Reid Parsons (they/she) shares one final preview: the glowing, intricately crafted single “Lightbulb.” Romantic, sinewy, and quietly radiant, “Lightbulb” is a celebration of enduring love and the subtle magic tucked inside life’s simplest moments.

“I wrote this song for a special person’s special day—one they pretend isn’t special at all,” Parsons shares. “It’s about someone who’s bursting with hope but wears a layer of playful cynicism to keep things in check. They’re the kind of person who lights up a room with their laugh, but also reminds you not to take things too seriously.”

Built around a crisp, hip-hop-inspired groove, “Lightbulb” floats on a delicate lattice of fingerpicked acoustic guitar, metronomic keys, and bass. Ethereal pedal steel and cello drift above it all, punctuated by sparkling guitar lines and descending classical runs reminiscent of chamber pop. The result is a lovingly crafted soundscape—described by Parsons as “a little, delicate but ornately decorated music box”—that balances clarity and complexity, groundedness and dreaminess.

The song’s central metaphor—“a little lightbulb on the ceiling”—offers a humble counterpoint to the grandiosity so often found in pop love songs. “There are no chandeliers or fancy LEDs in this picture,” Parsons explains. “Just a warm, steady glow—something simple but lasting. That’s how I think about love.”

“Lightbulb” is the third and final single from Back to Back, following the bossa nova-tinged title track and the bluesy anthem of resilience, “Get Out of Bed,” which was recently featured by The Big Takeover, who praised Parsons as “one of Vermont’s most compelling musical voices.” Engineered by Ben Collette (Trey Anastasio, Susan Tedeschi, Sharon Jones) and recorded live to tape at Burlington’s Tank Recording Studio, Back to Back is a stunning debut—an orchestral Americana record steeped in soul, folk, jazz, and classical influences.

Rooted in the slow, natural rhythms of their home state, Parsons’ songwriting is deeply informed by place, architecture, and human connection. “Music has always been where I can build a world to embrace all parts of myself,” they say. From tender reflections on intimacy to wry meditations on mental health, Back to Back invites listeners into that world—a thoughtfully constructed space where hope and realism coexist.

Raised in Moretown, VT, Parsons’ musical foundation includes childhood car rides scored by Lucinda Williams and Steely Dan, classical composition studies, and a long-running love affair with jazz and blues. They cut their teeth performing at the now-defunct Purple Moon Pub—once a launchpad for Grace Potter—and fronted a 13-piece soul and Motown band while studying music and anthropology. Back to Back was funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign and day jobs in farming and food systems, reflecting the same quiet integrity found in the music itself.

In support of the album, Parsons has announced a series of new live dates across Vermont this spring and summer, including a hometown release show on June 12th at Foam in Burlington. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit reidparsons.com.

The Dead Daisies are turning up the heat with the release of their latest single, “Boom Boom”—a gritty, hard-hitting take on the John Lee Hooker classic. Out today via Fame / Malaco Records, the track is the latest single off the band’s upcoming blues album Lookin’ For Trouble, arriving May 30th. Steeped in the raw energy and rebellious spirit that shaped rock ‘n’ roll, the album finds the band reimagining blues standards with the same firepower that has fueled their decade-long run.

“Boom Boom” channels the swagger and soul of Hooker’s original, inspired by his time at Detroit’s Apex Bar, where the bartender Willa would famously scold him, “Boom boom, you late again!” The phrase sparked one of his biggest crossover hits, and now The Dead Daisies bring that same playful edge and infectious rhythm to their high-octane version. “He thought it was a great title and wrote the song,” says frontman John Corabi. “He recorded it with the legendary Motown session band The Funk Brothers, and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put our spin on it!!!” The result is a riff-heavy, blues-drenched anthem that pays tribute while making it unmistakably their own.

From the moment they stepped into FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the band—John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, The Scream), David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio), Michael Devin (Whitesnake, Lynch Mob), and Sarah Tomek (Steven Tyler Band, Samantha Fish)—felt the weight of history around them. The iconic space, where legends like Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and Etta James once recorded, inspired a late-night jam session that quickly became something much bigger. Producer Marti Frederiksen pressed record, and what started as impromptu fun turned into a full-fledged album—one that captures the blues in its purest, most electrifying form.

Across ten powerhouse tracks, Lookin’ For Trouble breathes new life into legendary songs, with The Dead Daisies putting their own stamp on each one. The band’s high-voltage take on Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads”—the song that gave rise to blues mythology—kicked off the album rollout with a scorching tribute to the Delta blues legend.

“‘Crossroads’ by Delta bluesman Robert Johnson has created a myth so large that it’s been etched into the very foundation of rock ‘n’ roll lore,” says bassist Michael Devin. “Many bands have covered ‘Crossroads’ over the years, now we’ve covered it in our own way.”

The band’s rendition has already been met with praise, with Raised by Cassettes calling it “a high-energy, soul-drenched performance that bridges past and present.”

Elsewhere on the album, the band tears through classics like “Going Down” (Freddie King) and “Black Betty” (Lead Belly), putting their own hard-hitting spin on these blues staples. The setlist also includes smoldering renditions of “Born Under A Bad Sign” (Albert King), “Sweet Home Chicago” (Robert Johnson), and “The Thrill Is Gone” (B.B. King), each one injected with The Dead Daisies’ signature grit and intensity.

At its core, Lookin’ For Trouble is a testament to the enduring power of the blues. The band approached the album with a deep respect for the genre’s origins, recording the songs live to capture the spontaneity and emotion that make blues so timeless.

“This album is our love letter to the blues,” says John Corabi. “When I first heard blues, it was through bands like Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. The deeper I researched my heroes, the deeper I got into the history of this music. The blues is the soul of rock ‘n’ roll—it’s in everything we do.”

Guitarist Doug Aldrich adds, “We cut these songs live, in the same room where so many legends recorded. It was all about feel—capturing the rawness and authenticity that makes blues so powerful.”

For over a decade, The Dead Daisies have built a reputation for their no-holds-barred approach to rock, sharing stages with KISS, Guns N’ Roses, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, ZZ Top, Foreigner, Judas Priest, and the Hollywood Vampires. Their catalog includes 10 albums, proving that true rock ‘n’ roll never fades.

With Lookin’ For Trouble on the horizon, The Dead Daisies are hitting the road to bring their blues-infused rock anthems to audiences worldwide. Their Light ‘Em Up Tour, electrified fans across the U.S., UK, and Europe in 2024 and they continue to tour in 2025, featuring both their rock hits and their blues-driven sound. UK and European tour dates are locked for this year, with more announcements coming soon. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit thedeaddaisies.com.

In a career defined by evolution, Joe Bonamassa is ready to turn the page once again. The blues-rock virtuoso has just announced Breakthrough, his most adventurous and genre-blending studio album to date, out July 18th via his own J&R Adventures. At the heart of the announcement is the release of the album’s powerful title track—“Breakthrough”—a soulful, hard-hitting anthem about letting go, moving forward, and finding your fire again, available today on all streaming platforms.

Crafted across multiple continents and infused with a world’s worth of inspiration, Breakthrough marks a bold new chapter for Bonamassa—one that leans on fiery solos, emotionally rich storytelling, groove-driven arrangements, and stylistic exploration. Produced by longtime creative partner Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Journey), the album was shaped by sessions in Greece, Egypt, Nashville, and Los Angeles, resulting in a vibrant sonic tapestry that shifts effortlessly from funky blues and Texas swing to acoustic ballads and swaggering hard rock.

“I think this album, Breakthrough, marks a shift in the styling of Joe Bonamassa’s recording output,” says Shirley. “While there are plenty of guitar solos on this record, his emphasis has been on songs primarily. Each time Joe undertakes a new recording project, he seems to access a different part of his vast library of music genre from the jukebox-in-his-head! This album is a round-the-world musical trip—from Little Feat funkiness to Texas swing, from hard rock power to acoustic singer/songwriter-style songs.”

The newly released single “Breakthrough,” co-written with longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd), captures the emotional core of the record—an uplifting anthem about transformation, persistence, and letting go of the weight that holds us back. With gritty vocals, melodic guitar lines, and lush instrumentation, the track embodies Bonamassa’s signature blend of power and finesse while ushering in a bold new direction.

“Breakthrough” follows the success of Bonamassa’s recent singles “Still Walking With Me” and “Shake This Ground,” both of which hinted at the adventurous spirit behind the full album. “Shake This Ground” delivered a moody, introspective edge, while “Still Walking With Me” leaned into warmth, gratitude, and classic soul. Each track reflects a different facet of Bonamassa’s evolving songwriting approach, rooted in emotional honesty and anchored by his unmistakable guitar work.

The album announcement caps a stretch of extraordinary momentum for Bonamassa. Next up, Bonamassa recently began his extensive European Spring Tour, followed by a June run with his powerhouse supergroup Black Country Communion (featuring Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham, and Derek Sherinian). After another round of summer dates across Europe—including sold-out shows in Ireland—he’ll return stateside for his just-announced 2025 U.S. Summer Tour, a limited amphitheater run featuring stops at The Greek Theatre, Red Rocks, and more iconic venues.

With over 50 albums, 28 #1 Billboard Blues albums, and a lifelong commitment to evolving the genre, Bonamassa shows no signs of slowing down. Whether headlining iconic venues, mentoring rising artists through Journeyman Records, or supporting music education via his Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation, Bonamassa continues to shape the future of blues-rock with every note.

Primus is back with their first new studio track since 2022’s Conspiranoid EP: the blistering, surrealist anthem “Little Lord Fentanyl.” A twisted fable steeped in groove and dark humor, the track features a guest appearance from Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer), whose unmistakable voice slithers through the chaos with sinister glee.

The single also marks the official studio debut of drummer John Hoffman, a Shreveport native who joined the band earlier this year after beating out more than 6,100 applicants in a global audition process dubbed the Interstellar Drum Derby.

“Little Lord Fentanyl” showcases the intricate, playful rhythms of Hoffman, whose unconventional style—described by Stereogum as a “weightless bustle of high-velocity flurries, Meters-y swamp-pocket, and cartoonish cymbal clutches”—has brought renewed fire to Primus since he officially joined the band earlier this year. His unlikely journey from Louisiana jam nights to the Primus drum throne was recently chronicled in this feature interview with Stereogum, as well as the band’s Interstellar Drum Derby YouTube series.

The release of “Little Lord Fentanyl” comes in the midst of Primus’ spring run on the Sessanta Tour—a collaborative outing with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer celebrating Keenan’s 60(ish) birthday—and ahead of their Onward & Upward summer headline tour, which kicks off July 5th in Paso Robles, CA.

The Onward & Upward Tour marks an exciting new era for the band, with Hoffman officially at the kit. Selected after a months-long audition process, his arrival has brought fresh fire and creative reinvention to the Primus universe. The tour will hit 24 cities nationwide, including iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Greek Theatre, The Rooftop at Pier 17, and a two-night finale at Channel 24 in Sacramento. Along the way, the band will be joined by support from Ty Segall and MonoNeon on select dates.

“This fiery, cheerful, octopus-like drummer from Shreveport, Louisiana has breathed a very potent breath of freshness into this band we all call PRIMUS,” Claypool said in a recent statement. “Come see why this amazing fellow was able to rise above over 6,100 applicants to win the Interstellar Drum Derby and become the latest, and possibly the greatest, drummer to sit on the PRIMUS drum throne.”

Primus have released the final episode of Interstellar Drum Derby, the band’s behind-the-scenes YouTube series chronicling their global open-call audition for a new drummer. The finale brings the journey full circle, showcasing the last round of in-studio auditions, final interviews, and the now-iconic moment when Les Claypool surprised John Hoffman with a cake and the news that he’d officially joined Primus.

The episode features appearances from Fred Armisen and Bob Odenkirk, commentary from longtime drum tech Tim “Soya” Solyan, and footage of both Hoffman and fellow finalist Gergő Borlai performing, bonding with the band, and reflecting on the stakes of the opportunity. What began as a cosmic call for submissions ends here as a celebration of chemistry, instinct, and a hard-earned seat behind one of the most storied kits in modern rock.

In its final stretch, the episode transitions into the studio for an exclusive look at the making of “Little Lord Fentanyl,” the band’s first new song in over three years—and the first to feature Hoffman. Captured during what would become his final audition, the footage shows Hoffman recording with the band before being officially offered the gig, offering fans a rare glimpse into Primus’ creative process at a pivotal moment of transition. The track, which includes a guest vocal from Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer), has been praised by Stereogum as “transgressive and comforting at the same time,” and described by Metal Hammer as “pure brain-melting oddness.”

Director Agent O called the finale “a challenge to put together” due to the sheer volume of compelling material. “There was so much to fit into a single episode,” he said. “The biggest challenge was figuring out how to showcase both drummers, Gergo and John, without repeating the same songs and keeping things moving forward. I think the back-and-forth editing between the two during the same track is fun to watch. You can hear the subtle differences, but it doesn’t disrupt the flow of the music. It was crucial to highlight their incredible talent, but it was just as important to show that these guys are humans, too.”

Hoffman’s full-circle rise—from gigging in Shreveport to front-page stories in Stereogum and a cover feature in the May issue of Modern Drummer—has resonated across the industry. The final episode of Interstellar Drum Derby offers a moving portrait of a drummer who, as Claypool put it, “rose above over 6,100 applicants to win the Interstellar Drum Derby and become the latest, and possibly the greatest, drummer to sit on the Primus drum throne.”

With Hoffman now in place, Primus are charging ahead—currently on the Sessanta Tour with Keenan’s Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, and gearing up for their Onward & Upward Summer Tour, which kicks off July 5th in Paso Robles, CA and hits 24 cities nationwide with support from Ty Segall and MonoNeon. British blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Joanne Shaw Taylor offers a dose of feel-good nostalgia with the release of her new single “Summer Love.” Released today via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records, the track finds Joanne in a more carefree, radio-ready mode—without letting go of the heart and honesty that have defined her career.

“I specifically had it in my mind that I wanted to write a summer pop single for this album,” Joanne shares. “It’s just something I’ve always loved—driving around Michigan, now Tennessee in summer and having that one song you love to hear on the radio that years later triggers happy memories. I hope this could be that song for someone out there.”

With crisp handclaps, crunchy riffs, and a laid-back groove that begs to be played with the windows down, “Summer Love” tells the story of a fleeting romance that burned bright and ended sweet. “What’s to say, let’s call it what it is / It’ll almost be easy, getting over this,” Joanne sings, striking the perfect balance between wistful and free. “Had love for a season, both had our reasons / It’s only for forever—forever till September.”

“Summer Love” is the latest in a run of singles leading into Black & Gold, Joanne’s highly anticipated new album out June 6th. It follows the moody and emotionally raw “Look What I’ve Become,” the roaring rocker “Hell Of A Good Time,” and the introspective gems “Grayer Shade of Blue” and “I Gotta Stop Letting You Let Me Down.” Each release has shown a different side of Joanne’s artistry, reflecting a record that’s as dynamic as it is deeply personal.

Produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Journey, Aerosmith), Black & Gold sees Joanne stretching beyond the boundaries of traditional blues-rock, embracing cinematic textures, soulful pop, and modern guitar grit. From the shimmering cover of Sam Sparro’s “Black & Gold” to the stirring ballad “Who’s Gonna Love Me Now,” the album showcases Joanne’s evolution as a writer, player, and vocalist.

Joanne recently wrapped a string of U.S. Spring Tour dates and is gearing up for a summer packed with major festival and headline performances across North America and Europe and in the midst of announcing a US tour this fall. Known for her fiery musicianship and magnetic stage presence, she continues to captivate live audiences with a setlist that spans fan favorites and new material from Black & Gold. On the heels of his soulful lead single “Bye Bye Blues,” celebrated blues singer and guitarist Larry McCray returns today with “Bright Side,” the second release from his upcoming album Heartbreak City, due out June 13 via KTBA Records, the label founded by Joe Bonamassa. The mid-tempo burner—written by Josh Smith, Michael "Harvey" Price, and Steve Shepherd—was originally penned for the late, great Bobby “Blue” Bland, but sat unreleased for decades until producer Josh Smith brought it to McCray, knowing he was the one to bring it to life.

With deep-in-the-pocket grooves, sly lyrical turns, and an irresistible call-and-response chorus, “Bright Side” leans into McCray’s ability to deliver grit with charm and swagger. His weathered vocals ride a classic blues progression that’s equal parts tough and joyful, while his signature guitar tone cuts through like a livewire. “Bright Side” shows McCray doing what he does best—delivering emotional truth with musical fire.

Produced by Grammy-nominated duo Bonamassa and Smith, Heartbreak City is a bold, unfiltered collection that finds McCray at the height of his powers. The ten-track album fuses raw blues with vintage soul, Southern grit, and a hard-won sense of joy, featuring standout contributions from Reese Wynans, Kirk Fletcher, and background vocalists Jade Macrae and Dannielle De Andrea, as well as guest guitar work from Bonamassa himself. The album was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood and mixed by Alan Hertz.

The project was first introduced with the lead single “Bye Bye Blues,” a finger-snapping throwback co-written with longtime collaborator Charlie Walmsley that paid homage to the soul icons of McCray’s youth—Johnnie Taylor, Bobby “Blue” Bland, and Little Milton among them.

Across Heartbreak City, McCray leans into themes of reflection, resilience, and redemption, drawing from decades of lived experience on and off the stage. His voice—gravelly, weathered, and full of soul—carries the weight of hard-earned wisdom, while his guitar work remains as fiery and fluid as ever. With gospel-tinged harmonies, taut grooves, and a band that matches him punch for punch, Heartbreak City reclaims the blues, reframing it through the lens of someone who’s survived it, played it, and lived it for more than four decades.

The album follows McCray’s 2022 comeback Blues Without You, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Blues Chart and was named the #1 Blues Album of the Year by Blues Rock Review. The record marked a triumphant return after a seven-year hiatus and helped relaunch McCray onto festival stages and year-end best-of lists. In 2024, he was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame, further cementing his place among the greats.

Born in Smackover, Arkansas, and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, McCray developed a guitar style that blends the electric fire of Hendrix with the soul of B.B. King and the Southern swing of the Allman Brothers. He was the first artist signed to Virgin Records’ Point Blank imprint in the late ’80s and went on to release a series of genre-defining albums, including Ambition, Delta Hurricane, and Born to Play the Blues. Over his storied career, McCray has shared the stage with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, the Allman Brothers, Joe Walsh, Jonny Lang, and many more.

“Larry McCray is a legend,” shares Joe Bonamassa. “We have known that for 30 years. He is the last of the great blues shouters from the Rust Belt. In the spirit of BB King, Luther Allison, and Little Milton, Larry is among the greats. It’s now up to the world to rediscover him. He has been here all along.”

Today, Rudy Love & The Encore has announced the upcoming release of their highly anticipated album 11, available exclusively on vinyl starting June 11th as part of the Buy Before You Stream initiative. This groundbreaking model redefines the artist-fan connection, giving fans the chance to own a tangible piece of music history ahead of its digital release on July 11th. The album’s lead single, "Burnin’" is out now, offering a powerful glimpse into the band’s soulful fusion of R&B, funk, and heartfelt storytelling.

Buy Before You Stream, created by Midtopia, empowers independent artists by enabling them to sell vinyl editions of their albums directly to fans before they hit streaming platforms. This direct-to-fan approach strengthens the artist-audience connection and bypasses industry middlemen—ensuring that 100% of the profits go straight to the artists and helping them reclaim ownership of their work.

Frontman Rudy Love Jr. carries forward a rich musical legacy as the son of Rudy Love Sr.—a revered soul singer, session musician, and songwriter whose work has been sampled and recorded by icons ranging from Jay-Z to Little Richard to Eric Clapton. Love Jr.’s grandfather, who originally wrote “Good Morning Little School Girl,” later covered by Clapton, is just one example of how the Love family's contributions to American music have been widespread yet often under-credited. 11 is both a personal and artistic reckoning with that legacy—and a declaration of independence.

For Rudy, the launch of 11 as part of the initiative is both a career milestone and a deeply personal moment. “I’ll never forget the first time I saw my family’s music on sale, and we didn’t even have a copy ourselves,” he says. “It was a wake-up call about how the system works.”

"That kind of thing stays with you," he adds. "It makes you realize how important it is to have control over your work, to own it, and to make sure you’re compensated fairly."

11 is a bold statement about perseverance, legacy, and reclaiming creative control. The title represents both death and rebirth, a theme that threads through the album and mirrors Rudy’s own journey as an artist. “11 is about acknowledging what’s been lost but also embracing what’s to come,” he reflects. “It’s about rebirth, renewal, and moving forward.” “Burnin’,” the album’s lead single, sets the tone as a fiery anthem of resilience in the face of an industry that has often sidelined independent voices.

Rudy’s embrace of vinyl also reflects a deeper belief in music as something tangible and lasting. He recalls discovering artists as a kid by digging through records and reading liner notes. “It was such a personal, meaningful experience that’s so different from how we find music today,” he says. “When fans buy vinyl, they’re getting something real—it’s part of our history, part of our story.”

The release of 11 is part of a broader movement that includes Talia Keys’ From The Ashes, which was the first album released under the Buy Before You Stream initiative earlier this year. With these releases, the initiative is creating an ecosystem where artists can not only reconnect with their fans but also build sustainable careers free from the instability of the digital streaming model.

“Buy Before You Stream is about restoring the power that’s been lost over the years," says Rudy. "It’s about returning to a time when artists could have ownership, create physical connections with their fans, and thrive in a way that wasn’t dictated by algorithms and middlemen.”

As Rudy Love & The Encore continues to push forward with 11, the album will be available for direct purchase through the Buy Before You Stream platform, with the digital release scheduled for July 11th. Guitar slinger and blues-rock powerhouse Joe Bonamassa has released his latest single, “Drive By The Exit Sign,” a gritty, uptempo standout from his upcoming studio album Breakthrough, out July 18th via J&R Adventures. Fueled by a crunchy slide guitar riff, Southern-rock energy, and a full-throttle vocal performance, “Drive By The Exit Sign” finds Bonamassa leaning into the dirtier, road-tested side of his songwriting. It’s a breakup song disguised as a highway burner—fast-paced and hook-heavy, with lyrics that evoke missed chances, wrong turns, and the emotional wreckage we leave behind.

Produced by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Journey), the single captures the raw, unfiltered side of Breakthrough, a record that spans genres and continents. Recorded across Greece, Nashville, and Los Angeles, Breakthrough reflects Bonamassa’s most expansive vision yet—a record that taps into swampy funk, acoustic introspection, arena-ready blues rock, and more.

Co-written by Bonamassa, James House, and producer Kevin Shirley, “Drive By The Exit Sign” follows the release of the album’s title track,“Breakthrough,” an anthemic, soul-stirring call to transformation that quickly became a fan favorite. That single, co-written with longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge, showcased Bonamassa’s growth as a storyteller and emotional interpreter, marking a new chapter in a career already defined by evolution.

The album also features previously released tracks “Still Walking With Me” and “Shake This Ground,” which introduced listeners to the wide-ranging soundscape Bonamassa has built on Breakthrough—from the introspective and moody to the celebratory and uplifting. Each single adds a new layer to an album that celebrates risk, reinvention, and deep musical roots.

The new music arrives as Bonamassa wraps his Spring 2025 European Tour, which brought sold-out crowds across the UK, Germany, and Central Europe. Next, he’ll hit the road with his supergroup Black Country Communion—featuring Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham, and Derek Sherinian—for a highly anticipated European run in June. A U.S. summer amphitheater tour follows, including stops at The Greek Theatre, Red Rocks, and more, with a full Fall U.S. Tour on the horizon.

With more than 50 albums, 28 #1 Billboard Blues albums, and a reputation as one of the hardest-working performers in music, Bonamassa continues to break new ground while staying deeply rooted in the blues-rock tradition. Breakthrough is his most ambitious effort yet—a celebration of craft, character, and sheer musical force.

Cardinal Black, the Welsh-formed trio of frontman Tom Hollister, guitarist Chris Buck, and drummer Adam Roberts – have released their sensational new studio album Midnight At The Valencia - out now on Thirty Tigers.

The resplendent Midnight At The Valencia, whose tracks are now fast approaching a million streams, is a testament to the band’s self-carved path, from their humble beginnings in university dive bars to sharing stages with legends like Peter Frampton, at his sold-out Royal Albert Hall show, as well as Joe Bonamassa & Myles Kennedy.

Critically well-received, Midnight At The Valencia has seen fantastic media support over the coming months, with Classic Rock Magazine declaring that the band “really should go global, no problem," the Daily Mirror predicting that “greatness awaits," as well as Planet Rock Radio playlist support.

Singles such as "Need More Time" arrived to rousing receptions, as well as "Keep On Running," - a swampy, menacing blues sound, full of haunting whistles and scuzzy riffs that crackle like lightning. The accompanying video starred BAFTA-winning actor Molly Windsor, a fan of the band who is known to millions as the star of the BBC’s critically acclaimed drama series Three Girls, fleeing her trauma in a sequence of flashbacks - watch here. The band have also now unveiled the video for latest track "Breathe" - watch here.

Produced by Cyrill Camenzind (James Morrison, Alain Clark) at Powerplay Studios in Zurich, the album is a rich tapestry of love, loss, grief, and hope, brought to life by vintage analogue equipment and the band’s undeniable chemistry.

With Midnight At The Valencia, the band set out to create a record that represented their “10,000 hours” of work, having played in just about every backwater dive bar and neon-soaked club they’d come across. “It’s a long, shared history we have,” Hollister says. “We feel like we’ve paid our dues, and this album is the culmination of all that effort.”

The road to success has been anything but conventional. First their story began when they were tipped by Steve Winwood, who invited them to record at his own Wincraft Studios, then Guns N’ Roses manager Alan Niven took interest and a record deal was offered, but instead the band paused and their paths diverged but never truly separated.

Buck’s distinctive guitar playing earned him numerous accolades and praise from some of the most distinguished players in Slash & Jason Isbell and the band remained close, reuniting sporadically to play together until they decided to reform.

The next phase was nearly two years of writing, recording and rehearsing and in 2022, within 24 hours, their debut single, "Tell Me How It Feels," caused an instant sensation, knocking Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds from their perch at the top of the iTunes and Amazon Rock Charts. Both their first EP and subsequent debut album also reached #1.

Having cemented themselves as a formidable live force, Cardinal Black have toured extensively across Europe and the UK, including a standout 2024 performance at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Their growing reputation also took root in the U.S. with sold-out shows at iconic venues like The Troubadour in Los Angeles and Basement East in Nashville—milestones that helped solidify a new partnership with Thirty Tigers for this fiercely independent band.

Now, with their electrifying live presence gaining global attention, the band is preparing for their first-ever U.S. headline tour this August—and momentum is already building fast. Shows in New York, Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Austin, and Atlanta have sold out well in advance, with their initial NYC date at Mercury Lounge moving to the larger Gramercy Theatre after tickets were snapped up in less than 24 hours. Additional dates in Nashville, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more are moving quickly as Cardinal Black gear up for their long-awaited inaugural North American tour. Tickets on sale HERE.

Midnight At The Valencia is a heartfelt and ambitious account of their journey so far, one that invites listeners to pull up a pew, laugh, cry… and raise a glass to the past. Cheers to their future.

The emerging genre-bending outfit 2ŁØT has teamed up with GRAMMY-nominated artist Aloe Blacc to release “Immortal,” a bold new single inspired by the ancient philosophical concept of memento mori—a Latin phrase meaning “remember you must die.” Far from morbid, the song is a rallying cry for courage and clarity, urging listeners to reflect on life’s impermanence and ask a single transformative question: What would I do if I weren’t afraid?

Fusing 2ŁØT’s genre-defying sound with Aloe Blacc’s soul-stirring voice, “Immortal” is both a spiritual provocation and a musical revelation. The track draws its power from the timeless reminder that tomorrow is never guaranteed—and dares the listener to live fully, bravely, and with purpose. “‘Immortal’ is about unlocking the part of you that’s waiting to be set free,” says Rudy Love Jr. of 2ŁØT. “It’s a reminder that fear is the biggest barrier between you and your true calling. If you knew your time was short, what would you change?”

“From a lyrical standpoint, it’s one of the strongest songs I’ve been a part of writing,” reflects Aloe Blacc. “This line—‘when I tumble over, the broken pieces fit together better in the end’—reminds me of the Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken pieces are mended with gold. The broken parts of us, when they’re healed, become the strongest parts of us.”

Earlier today, Aloe Blacc and 2ŁØT appeared on KTLA in Los Angeles for the first live performance of their new single “Immortal.” The stripped-down set offered a raw, intimate take on the track’s powerful message, paired with a short on-air interview that gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the collaboration and the meaning behind the song. Check out the official lyric video for “Immortal” HERE.

“Immortal” builds on the conceptual foundation laid by 2ŁØT’s debut album Entropy, which draws from another powerful law of existence: the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, which states that all systems tend toward disorder over time. Where Entropy explored how to make peace with chaos, Immortal calls for action—to transcend it.

With singles like “Never Knew You,” “Arrow of Time” (featuring Michael Kang of The String Cheese Incident), and “Call For Me,” 2ŁØT has built a body of work rooted in personal resilience, social impact, and philosophical depth. In April, the band released “Entropy (Paul Oakenfold Remix),” a euphoric reinterpretation of their title track by one of dance music’s most legendary producers. It marked the band’s entry into the global electronic scene, expanding their reach without compromising their core message.

On June 13–14th, Aloe Blacc and 2ŁØT will reunite to perform “Immortal” live at Somewhere Festival & Conference in Wichita, KS—one of the most socially conscious festivals in the country. The event will feature genre-spanning acts like Deadmau5, Flying Lotus, and Suki Waterhouse, as well as immersive tech, interactive art installations, and a community-driven conference. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit: somewhere-fest.com.

At the heart of Somewhere Festival is a shared ethos with 2ŁØT: that music can be a vehicle for meaning, connection, and social change. Festival organizers partner with nonprofits including The Phoenix, 1 Million Strong, Create Campaign, and others to offer real-world opportunities for impact—turning the festival into a launchpad for community action and dialogue.

“It’s about giving artists the space to create, but also the tools to build sustainable careers,” adds Rudy Love Jr. “The knowledge to make an impact, and the community to support them along the way.”

About Aloe Blacc
Grammy nominated Aloe Blacc has long been a voice for the people—a globally recognized singer, songwriter, and changemaker whose music uplifts, empowers, and unites. Best known for genre-defying anthems like the international smash “Wake Me Up” with Avicii, anthemic “The Man,” and the timeless “I Need A Dollar,” Blacc continues to inspire through sound and purpose. In 2025, Aloe Blacc returns with his most mission-driven work to date: a new full-length album titled Stand Together. Stand Together is both a celebration and a call to action, with Blacc’s signature soul and sincerity woven into every note. With powerful new music, renewed purpose, and a voice as vital as ever, Aloe Blacc stands at the center of culture and conscience in 2025—reminding the world that one good song really can change everything.

About 2ŁØT

Americana duo The Imaginaries—husband-and-wife team Maggie McClure and Shane Henry—have announced their highly anticipated sophomore album, Fever, due out August 22nd. The Oklahoma-based duo’s latest offering from the record, a resilient, harmony-soaked country-leaning ballad titled “Little By Little,” is available everywhere now.

The fresh single gives fans a taste of what’s to come on Fever, a bold, soul-stirring album filled with gritty blues-rock riffs, shimmering pop-Americana melodies, and a spirit of defiant hope. “Little By Little” encapsulates the couple’s shared journey as life partners and musical collaborators, with rich vocal interlace and lyrics that speak to staying the course despite uncertainty: “Little by little and inch by inch / We’re never giving up, gonna ride the wave / You and me baby gonna get there someday.”

“This new album is about being on the other side of struggle,” Maggie shares. “It’s about breakthrough—not that we have it all figured out!” Shane adds, “There are a lot of hopeful stories on this album. We want to put smiles on people’s faces.”

The 12-track collection, recorded in the legendary musical haven of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, features dazzling guest guitar solos from Vince Gill, Joe Bonamassa, and Ariel Posen, and showcases the full spectrum of the duo’s talents. With Maggie’s intimate lyricism and piano-led storytelling paired with Shane’s electrifying guitar work and blues-rooted swagger, The Imaginaries strike a rare balance between vulnerability and power—drawing on influences from Tom Petty, Bonnie Raitt, Fleetwood Mac, and The Civil Wars while building a sound uniquely their own.

Their path to this moment has been anything but conventional. Maggie and Shane met when she opened for him at a show in Oklahoma. They fell in love, married in 2011, and moved to Los Angeles, where they shared a tiny apartment while pursuing their solo careers. It was during that lean season—marked by scrappy gigs, late nights, and big dreams—that the idea for The Imaginaries was born. The name came to Shane in a dream, offering a beacon of creative ambition in the middle of hard times.

Their debut self-titled album established the foundation, but Fever is their defining artistic statement. Returning to Muscle Shoals—a place they now consider sacred ground—they recorded with a powerhouse lineup that includes first and second-generation Swampers, whose resumes span icons like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Paul Simon, Gregg Allman, Jason Isbell, and more. That rich musical lineage threads throughout Fever, grounding its personal stories in a timeless sonic tradition.

Outside the studio, The Imaginaries have quietly built one of the most impressive independent portfolios in Americana today. With 75+ sync placements in film, TV, and ads, they wrote/produced the soundtrack for and starred in the Samuel Goldwyn feature A Cowgirl’s Song, performed a licensed song on screen in the Dennis Quaid biopic Reagan, have two songs featured in Netflix’s Mending the Line, and contributed multiple original tracks to the forthcoming film The One, in which they also perform a song on camera. Maggie is also an accomplished music supervisor, while Shane co-founded boutique guitar pedal company Westerlund Audio—ventures that help sustain their creative freedom and vision.

Over the years, they’ve shared stages with Judy Collins, John Waite, Sixpence None The Richer, and more, and were hand-picked to open for the Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Tour before the pandemic halted plans. Their music and story have been spotlighted in American Songwriter, Deadline, Guitar Player, and HuffPost, among others.

To celebrate the release of Fever, The Imaginaries will hit the road for a full slate of summer and fall tour dates. Highlights include appearances at Texas Music Revolution, deadCenter Film Festival, and Kimbro’s Pickin’ Parlor, as well as headline dates across Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Tennessee, California, and Colorado. Their album release shows will take place on August 22nd at Hotel Café in Hollywood and September 5th at Beam Live in OKC, with additional performances planned throughout 2025 and a European tour set for 2026.

British blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Joanne Shaw Taylor has officially released her highly anticipated new album Black & Gold today via Journeyman Records. To mark the occasion, she’s also sharing the album’s latest single, “Love Lives Here”—a soulful reinterpretation of the classic Faces track and a fitting final chapter in the album’s rollout.

“I’m a huge Rod Stewart fan. This is one of my favorite Faces songs,” Joanne shares. “Again, moving forward into what I see as another chapter in my life and music after ten albums, I wanted to put a lot of things behind me but I also wanted to move forward on a positive note. Love lives here, says it all really.”

Produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Journey, Aerosmith), Black & Gold finds Joanne pushing her sound into bold new territory, balancing fiery blues-rock with elements of soulful pop, introspective songwriting, and sweeping cinematic textures. The 10-track album features a mix of originals and covers—including a shimmering take on Sam Sparro’s “Black & Gold”—and showcases Joanne’s evolution as a songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist.

“I went into writing and recording Black & Gold knowing it was my tenth studio album,” Joanne explains. “For me, it felt like a really exciting chance to creatively close the first chapter in my recording career and intro into the next decade of writing and recording. For that reason, I welcomed the chance to not only write some songs that were maybe different to styles I’ve tried before but also I used it as an opportunity to write songs that I needed to write for myself—to address some relationships and topics that I hadn’t before so I can move forward creatively and personally into an exciting new chapter in my career. I also included two covers that I’d always loved and wanted to record. I hope this is a very exciting album for the fans, and once again, I want to thank them for joining and supporting me on this ridiculously fun journey.”

Early reviews of Black & Gold have been overwhelmingly positive, praising both its musical breadth and emotional depth. Classic Rock hailed it as a “9/10” release, declaring “blues chanteuse strikes gold,” while Powerplay Magazine also awarded it 9/10, calling the title track “warm and welcoming, with a smoothness as silky as its name suggests.” Guitarist Magazine celebrated Joanne’s range, writing, “From the opening acoustic Americana of ‘Hold Of My Heart’ to the stomping rock of ‘I Gotta Stop Letting You Let Me Down,’” the album, “reinforces Joanne’s place in the firmament of today’s brightest stars.” American Blues Scene added, “Each track tells a story that stands on its own. Yet taken as a whole, they reflect a deeply personal experience, showcasing the depth of Joanne’s artistry.”

The release of Black & Gold caps off a months-long campaign that has seen Joanne drop a series of acclaimed singles, including “Summer Love”, the emotionally raw “Look What I’ve Become,” the fearless “What Are You Gonna Do Now,” the high-octane “Hell Of A Good Time,” the introspective “Grayer Shade of Blue,” and her defiant anthem “I Gotta Stop Letting You Let Me Down.” Together, they paint a vivid portrait of a woman reclaiming her story, set against the diverse sonic palette of her new album, Black & Gold.

The new album arrives as Joanne prepares for a busy touring season. Following a successful U.S. spring run, she’ll hit the road throughout the summer with appearances at major festivals and venues across North America and Europe, including Pori Jazz Festival, Blues From The Top, Chenango Blues Festival, and more. This fall, she’ll return to the U.S. for a coast-to-coast headline tour running from October through mid-November—and today, she’s also announced a new run of European dates hitting in late September and October. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit joanneshawtaylor.com/tour.

Known for her commanding stage presence and fiery musicianship, Joanne continues to deliver electrifying performances that blend fan favorites with new material from Black & Gold, affirming her place at the forefront of modern blues and guitar-driven rock.

Today, celebrated bluesman Larry McCray releases his powerful new studio album Heartbreak City, available now on KTBA Records, the label founded by Joe Bonamassa. To mark the occasion, McCray also drops the album’s title track and latest single, “Heartbreak City”—a gut-punch of a song that puts his searing guitar work and gravel-worn vocals front and center.

Produced by Grammy-nominated duo Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith, Heartbreak City is a bold, unfiltered collection that finds McCray at the height of his powers. The ten-track album fuses raw blues with vintage soul, Southern grit, and hard-earned truth, featuring standout contributions from Reese Wynans, Kirk Fletcher, and background vocalists Jade Macrae and Dannielle De Andrea, as well as guest guitar work from Bonamassa himself. It was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood and mixed by Alan Hertz.

Written by Josh Smith, Michael "Harvey" Price, Steve Shepherd, and Dan Walsh, track “Heartbreak City” tells the story of a man lost in a city of sorrow, where heartbreak is the only currency and escape feels impossible. The song’s vivid lyrics paint a cinematic portrait of isolation and despair—“All God’s lonely souls begging, ‘Please just let me die’”—while McCray’s voice channels every ounce of that pain into a cathartic, slow-burning blues performance. His guitar howls and groans alongside him, evoking the decades he spent pouring himself into club stages night after night.

Across the board, critics agree: McCray has delivered one of the standout blues records of the year. Blues Rock Review praised his ability to stay rooted in tradition while continuing to evolve the genre, writing, “McCray dispatches the train with guitar licks played with a feel that even the late great B.B. King would have been proud of.” Rock and Blues Muse called the album “magnificent,” noting its “roaring, goose-bump raising guitar solos” and declaring that “Larry McCray is back in a big way.” Glide Magazine added, “McCray has never sounded better vocally or on guitar,” and affirmed that Heartbreak City “has all the major ingredients for a powerful blues album and then some.” And Raised by Cassettes summed it up best, calling it “not just one of the best blues albums of the year, but one of the best albums all around.”

The album was introduced through two acclaimed singles: “Bye Bye Blues,” a finger-snapping throwback co-written with Charlie Walmsley and steeped in soul tradition, and “Bright Side,” an unreleased gem originally written for Bobby “Blue” Bland that McCray reimagined with swagger and charm.

Across Heartbreak City, McCray leans into themes of loss, resilience, and redemption, drawing from a life spent living the blues as much as playing them. His voice—gritty, weathered, and full of soul—carries the weight of that experience, while his guitar burns with unrelenting purpose. With gospel-tinged harmonies, tight arrangements, and songs that cut deep, Heartbreak City is McCray’s most personal and compelling work yet.

The new album follows McCray’s acclaimed 2022 comeback, Blues Without You, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Blues Chart and was named #1 Blues Album of the Year by Blues Rock Review. In 2024, McCray was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the Midwest’s true blues icons.

Blues-rock icon Joe Bonamassa returns today with the release of “Trigger Finger,” the latest single from his eagerly awaited new album Breakthrough, due out July 18th on J&R Adventures. Marking another bold chapter in Bonamassa’s storied career, the track captures his signature fusion of powerful guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and raw vocal swagger. Co-written with longtime collaborator Tom Hambridge, “Trigger Finger” is a hard-hitting, up-tempo anthem about resilience, reinvention, and the fire that fuels forward motion.

With its fiery guitar work and no-nonsense lyrics, “Trigger Finger” finds Bonamassa leaning into a grittier, more rocking sound that highlights the album’s adventurous spirit. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Journey), Breakthrough was crafted across Greece, Nashville, and Los Angeles, blending global influences into a dynamic, genre-bending collection.

“Trigger Finger” follows the release of the album’s title track “Breakthrough,” a soulful and uplifting anthem of transformation, along with the moody, introspective “Shake This Ground” and the warm, groove-driven “Still Walking With Me.” Each of these singles showcases a different facet of Bonamassa’s evolving artistry and the emotional range of Breakthrough, his most stylistically diverse studio effort to date.

With over 50 albums, 28 #1 Billboard Blues albums, and a lifelong commitment to evolving the genre, Joe Bonamassa continues to set the standard for modern blues-rock. Breakthrough promises to further cement his legacy as one of the most innovative guitarists and songwriters of his generation.

The new single arrives as Bonamassa rides a wave of momentum. Fresh off a European tour with his supergroup Black Country Communion, he now sets his sights on summer dates across Europe, including sold-out shows in Ireland and appearances at iconic festivals like Montreux Jazz Festival and Bospop. His U.S. summer tour kicks off July 31st at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, with stops at Vina Robles Amphitheatre, Red Rocks, and more. In September, Bonamassa will headline the Bourbon & Beyond Festival before setting sail on the sold-out Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea Alaska cruise.

The 2025 Somewhere Festival & Conference has wrapped its second year, drawing more than 15,000 attendees from 31 states and 6 countries, and delivering on its promise of a transformative, community-driven experience that celebrates Wichita’s rich creative spirit.

Over two days of music, art, conversation, and collaboration, Somewhere brought together 105+ local visual and dance artists, nearly 190 musical artists, 51 conference speakers, 22 social change partners, and 24 community partners - all produced by Wichita’s creative community. From immersive art installations and skate ramp jams to genre-defying performances and thought-provoking panels, the event created space for people from all walks of life to gather, share, and co-create.

“This year proved what’s possible when vision meets collaboration,” said Jessie Hartke, CEO of Midtopia. “Wichita showed the world that we can build something meaningful from the ground up - no gatekeepers, just community, creativity, and heart.”

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED:

• Attendees: 15,000+ from 31 states and 6 countries
• Artistic talent: 188 musical artists, 105+ visual & dance artists, 51 conference speakers
• Food & culture: 22 food vendors, 20+ Ramp Jam participants, dozens of interactive art and social change activations
• Community legacy: Harvester Arts-curated shipping container installations remain onsite as a lasting public art landmark
• Safety: Zero major safety incidents - a testament to community care and collaboration

Somewhere Festival served as a platform for homegrown talent, helping retain Wichita’s creative workforce by offering new platforms, freedom of expression, and access to broader audiences. The festival broke down silos—forging respect and collaboration across music, visual art, dance, skate, production, social impact, food, and more. Attendees described the event as a welcoming, safe space that crossed neighborhood lines, demographics, and scenes, and offered real opportunities for connection and social change.

Programming reflected this spirit of inclusivity and creativity: from national headliners like Deadmau5, Suki Waterhouse, Flying Lotus, and Aloe Blacc with 2ŁØT, to intimate sets from regional and local favorites. The conference sparked vital conversations with panels on mental health, artist advocacy, DIY touring, and marketing without social media, and workshops on PR, personal branding, tour routing, and live looping. The Change Starts Somewhere Block Party invited hundreds to engage in hands-on community-building around addiction recovery, economic mobility, education, and creative expression.

“This experience reminded all of us what’s possible when a group of passionate people align around a shared vision and values,” said Chase Koch, founder of Movement Musick. “Wichita showed the world that music, creativity, community, and collaboration can truly transform a city.

Primus has announced a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl release for their latest single, “Little Lord Fentanyl,” which will feature a newly recorded live version of “Duchess (And The Proverbial Mind Spread) – Live from the Mann Music Center, Philadelphia, PA” as the B-side, available now on all digital platforms. Pre-orders for the 7-inch vinyl - available in Burgundy, Gold, Grey, and White Vinyl variants - are live now, with physical copies set to be available on the road as the band kicks off their Onward & Upward summer tour in early July, and at retail starting August 15th.

Originally recorded for the Brown Album in 1998, “Duchess (And The Proverbial Mind Spread)” gets new life in this live version captured during the band’s recent Philadelphia performance. The track features the dynamic drumming of John Hoffman, Primus’ latest addition following the band’s Interstellar Drum Derby search.

In the course of the search, Hoffman was the only one who chose to play “Duchess (And the Proverbial Mind Spread).” His preparation paid off and was soon pressure-tested on the road. “He’s the only one that picked it, and he fucking killed it,” recalls Claypool. Hoffman’s command of the song and chemistry with the band can be heard on this new live recording.

Available now in limited quantities, the 7-inch marks a special physical release for “Little Lord Fentanyl,” Primus’ first new song in over three years and their debut studio recording with Hoffman. Featuring a guest vocal from Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer), the track has earned acclaim as “transgressive and comforting at the same time” (Stereogum) and “pure brain-melting oddness” (Metal Hammer).

With Hoffman now behind the kit, Primus are poised for a busy summer. The band just wrapped the Sessanta tour alongside A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, and will launch their Onward & Upward headline run on July 5th in Paso Robles, CA, hitting 24 cities nationwide with support from Ty Segall and MonoNeon.
